Chapter Five

Alec had just woken up, he had planned on staying in his room the whole day but his stomach wouldn't let him and neither Jace or Izzy were in the mood of doing him a favor. Not after what he said yesterday.

He climbed out of bed and hoped everyone was still asleep. He had almost made it out with an apple in hand when suddenly someone snatched it out of his hand, put it back in the fruit bowl and pushed him into the dining room. It took Alec a moment to realize this was Isabelle and another moment to realize that Jace was sitting at the table looking uncomfortable. Isabelle sat him down on the chair across from Jace. In front of them was a plate of what could have been either oatmeal or eggs..? Definitely made by Izzy herself.

"I let you two eat." Izzy said with a big smile at Jace and then made a face at Alec, which he didn't blame her for. As soon as he left the tension between them grew so much he thought he could taste it. He stuck a spoon into the bowl, mixing the contents around, while Jace openly stared at him. He brought the spoon to his mouth, and Jaces eyes widened.

"You're not actually gonna eat that are you?" Jace asked unbelievingly.

"It can't be that bad." Alec said and they both stared at each other for what felt like minutes but could only have been seconds when Jaces lips twitched and then it was impossible to keep a straight face and they both ended up laughing on the floor.

"Since when were you suicidal?" Jace asked still laughing.

"I-I'm not." Alec said also laughing.

Jace was the first to calm down and his face twisted into a look of horror, that's when Alec realized he couldn't catch his breath and the floor beneath him seemed to tilt.

"Alec!" Jace said and he was sure he would have fallen by now if he wasn't already on the floor. Jace picked him up and his vision went blank, the last thing he remembered was Jaces panicked expression.

I woke up and a wave of heat hit me, there was blankets on top of me which I pushed away, my throat was dry and my head hurt. My hair was plastered to my forehead with sweat. I sat up and almost hit a sleeping Jace with my head, his head tilted to the side, eyes closed but he didn't look peaceful at all. Even in his sleep he looked worried. He must've fallen asleep waiting for me to wake up, how he fell asleep while in a sitting position is beyond even me. I felt awful for worrying him. My stomach growled then, making me jump in surprise and then blush in embarrassment at my own actions. I hear a small chuckle and turn to see a beautiful site. It was Magnus smiling with a shine in his eyes that I loved so much.

"Thank you.." I whispered to him, smiling as I did.

"For?" He asked, his smile vanishing.

"I feel better, only your magic makes me feel this alive." I said with a hoarse voice.

He snapped his finger and a cup of water appeared in his hands, he then handed it to me and I could almost swear that water had never tasted so good.

"You're welcome." He said as I drank.

I looked up,"Are you telling me that because of the water or the magic?" I asked and he came close to me, and my heartbeat really fast.

"What-" I whispered but was cut off when he wiped water from just below my bottom lip, having him so close to me... it was the best and worst feeling over.. it was like riding a roller coaster and at the same time like falling down a mountain of rocks. And somehow I stood my ground, I didn't faint or stop breathing like I usually would, I felt stronger this time. Instead I leaned slightly into his touch and surprised both of us. He then took a step back and this time it hurt more, him moving away from me was like him ripping my heart out and I couldn't help but let out a little whine, making him look up at me.

What's wrong with me?! I thought.

"Nothings wrong with you, Alexander." He mumbled, making me look up in surprise, okay so maybe I didn't think it.

"Magnus.." I said and I felt courage, I felt strong, I was going to tell him. I was going to tell him that I wasn't straight and I didn't just want him here when I was feeling sick, I was going to tell him I l-

"I have to go Alec." He said as I took a step forward.

"Magnus wait I-" but I didn't finish because I heard a voice behind me calling my name and when I turned back around Magnus was gone.

(3rd person P.O.V)

"You didn't see him?" Alec asked again and again Jace shook his head,"No I didn't see anything." He sighed getting annoyed with Alec.

Alec looked hurt, he looked miserable but not sick or as if he felt as bad as before, after taking a pill for his headache and eating the look of pain left his eyes but now he looked even worse and Jace knew it had nothing to do with any physical pain.

"Are you sure?" He asked once again and Jace stood up, leaving Alec alone on the roof.

He left him alone on the roof because he couldn't take it. Not because he was annoying or because he kept repeating the same thing. He left because he couldn't take it if he had to lie to him again.

As he walked down the hall he saw Izzy who was looking for Alec, he took her by the wrist and pulled her into his room and before she could complain he put a finger onto her mouth.

"Izzy.." Jace whispered and there was fear in his eyes. Izzy went quite and stopped whining when she saw this.

"Izzy I saw him.. The boy from the mission we took last month... I saw him."
