Annie's POV:
"Babe. Wake up." Hayden grins, showering my face with kisses. I groan as the bright rising Hawaii sun shines in my eyes, walking me up hastily.
Hayden grins at me, and I watch him in confusion. This is the happiest he's been this whole trip.
"So what's happening today?" I ask, stretching my arms out behind me.
"We're all going for breakfast, and then we're going hiking. Rush said t apparently leads up to this cool cliff jumping spot, and it'll be just like our first trip." He says excitedly.
"You're happy today." I chuckle, rolling out of bed.
"Things are finally going to normal. I know they are." He says, calming himself slightly. There's a short pause between us, and he just watched me with the brightest smile on his face.
"God, I love you." I grin, breaking his silent state. He gives me a quick peck on the cheek, then let's me pass so I can go get ready. Everyone else is already in the hallway or the parents room conversing. Most likely about me and Hayden, of course.
Suddenly, there's a continuous knock at our hotel room door. Hayden rushes over to open the door.
"Hayden!" I hear Hayley squeal. I almost forgot that I didn't get to see her last night; she was asleep, along with Paige.
Once she lets go of Hayden, she jumps up in my arms. I giggle, squeezing her back tight.
"You guys are idiots." She mutters in my ear, causing us both to laugh. Despite what the Internet thinks, Hayley is like my best friend. Without her, I don't know how I would be able to put up with my family.
She sits in the bathroom and chats with me while I apply some light makeup and change quickly. I decided on wearing a white bikini again today, paired with a flowy kimono and jean shorts. I leave my hair in its natural waves, and then leave the bathroom with Hayley. Hayden kisses my cheek, leaving Hayley trying to hide her smile.
We walk out the hotel hand in hand, Hayley grinning as she watches us. Dad gives me a look to tell me that I'm pushing it, but he knows he doesn't control me anymore.
I'm in charge of myself now.Hayden's POV:
"Finally! Let's eat, I'm starving!" Paige whines, speed walking away from our hallway. We all chuckle, following after her to the restaurant near the lobby. Annie and I seat ourselves at the end of the table near the wall, and her parents sit across from us. Next to us is Hayley, and next to them is my dad. Perfect.
I distract myself by chatting with Hayley to see how she's been doing. But after just a few minutes of talking to her, Annie grabs my attention.
"Talk to you in a bit, Hay." I mutter, looking up at the adults. As if it's routine, everyone else instantly turns away and starts talking to each other to give us 'privacy'.
"We talked. You two can be a relationship. But not in the same hotel room. That's not appropriate." My dad says, shaking his head.
"We don't-" I start off.
"We just like to cuddle. It makes us fall asleep better." Annie grins passive-aggressively.
"Fine. But we've got eyes on you. We respect that you'll listen to us from here on." Annie's mom says.
"Yes ma'am." I nod.
We give the okay that we can start talking again, and the table finally becomes a group again. I play tic-tac-toe with Annie and Hayley until our food arrives.
We all rush to eat, excited to experience this trip as a 'family' again. Once were all finished, we pile into the small bus and start our short drive to the mountains were hiking.
"Excited?" I ask Rush, who is practically bouncing in his seat.
"No. Nervous. I want to actually jump this time." He chuckles. I assume he's referring to the cliff, which he didn't end up jumping off up last time. But according to Hunter, this one is even higher, with a much deeper and wonder pool of water to land in.
"What about you?" I ask Annie, knowing how terrified she was last time.
"As long as you're there with me, I can do anything". She says, giggling at her cheesy saying.
"You're adorable." I smile, kissing her forehead. I don't even get a glare from her parents, which is a first.
Maybe this trip won't be so bad after all.
