Arjun was impatiently tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, and repeatedly glancing at his watch. His sister had already called thrice, waiting for them to start the party.
And Amaya, she was really getting on his nerves, first for taking so long to come down and second for what she did to Diksha. He had already prepared a chain of questions to shower on her for such an inane act of her."I'm so sorry AJ, I didn't intend to make you wait so long, I was stuck up deciding what to wear," Amaya pouted sliding into the seat beside him.
"Uh-huh," he mumbled bringing the engine to a roar."That's your favorite pass time," he muttered under his breath.
"How's my new watch?" Amaya stretched forward her hand, ignoring his reply. "Daddy darling specially ordered it for me from Sweden," she said cockily, running her thumb over the elegant works of the watch.
Not getting any reply from Arjun, she nudged him with her elbow.
"Tell me na baby, how's it?"
"Don't call me that Amy, I'm not any baby," he stated gritting his teeth.
Amaya suspected a spark of tension in the air, she immediately replied," Fine, sorry, I know my dear friend has grown up to not tell what's going on in his mind right now," she retorted giving him a suspecting look.
Arjun remained silent for a moment, the road was jammed and so was his mind, he spoke as soon as they were on a free road."Why did do you behave so imprudently today, with Diksha? That was unexpected from you Amy," he sighed in exasperation.
Amaya jumped on her seat hearing such an unexpected question from none other than him. Her breath was hitched for few seconds.
"What are you talking about AJ?" She softly asked.
"Don't you know what I'm talking about?" He glared at her.
"Oh, that! It's just a silly incident," Amaya said nonchalantly, realizing it was no use behaving unaware of the incident.
"You betrayed her by submitting your topic even before asking her once, and you're calling this a silly incident," Arjun sounded pissed off.
"F**k! Bloody Diksha told you this?" She groaned.
"Mind your language, Amaya!" Arjun snapped.
Amaya was taken aback by seeing a sudden change of tone in Arjun's voice. According to Amaya, only one person was responsible for his cold behavior towards her, and that was Diksha.
"How dare you to think like that Arjun? You're believing that freak? And you don't even care a bit to ask your friend to know what the truth was?" Her voice cracked.
"At least, I didn't expect this from you," she muttered.
"What do you mean by the truth?" He cocked an eyebrow at her.
"You trusted Diksha, whom you've hardly met a couple of times, and dumped your childhood friend who's ready to stand by you in all your adverse situations," she went on ranting.
"Don't change the topic, Amaya," he said annoyingly.
"Really? Then you don't know me, unlike her, I don't go on whining and complaining about my problems to each one of the people passing by, or else, I too have a list of her wicked deeds which were everytime aimed at me.She's a bossy freak who thinks herself the daughter of the prime minister and all others are nothing but a speck of dirt." Amaya sang in one breath.
"What on earth she has done to you?" Arjun gave her a perplexed expression.
"You'll be tired listening how she had troubled me and this time too she ordered me to work according to her as if I don't have any self-esteem and a so-called brain like her."
Arjun again went in a mute mode.
Amaya patted herself mentally for carrying her emotional drama so well and decided to pursue her career in acting immediately after graduating.
After a while, he spoke again,
"Whatever rivalry is going on between you two, I don't want to step into that puddle." He glanced at her, before speaking again," but at least you should apologize for your today's act, she looked very troubled today."
Amaya felt like smacking Arjun right at his face for still supporting Diksha instead of her. But she gulped her anger and decided to act prudently. It was a great chance for her to show herself innocent and gentle by apologizing to her and the same time portraying Diksha as the villain.
"If you say so, then I'll apologize to her as soon as possible," she said smiling. "Now, can you get back to my usual funny AJ."
She said placing her hands on his shoulder.
Arjun smiled and nodded.
