"Let me see her!"

Voices kept coming in and out. They were like a grenade that blew up by my ear, the sound reverberating against my eardrums. Consistent ringing at high frequencies, the kind where it's hard to hear anything and your eyes go blurry to the point you just want to curl up in a ball until it fades. Light poured onto my eyelids but I couldn't bring myself to open them. I came in and out of consciousness, this is the most awake I've been.

Awake...

The irony of the situation is humerus considering my circumstances. To put it in simple terms, vampires don't sleep. I'm a walking dead contradictory, an inconsistent phenomenon. What's so phenomenal about a dead girl? As I laid where I was at, in the state of two consciouses, I began to wonder what it would be like to talk.

What would I sound like? I couldn't tell you because I don't remember. I don't remember anything. Then I'd wonder who I was. I had to be someone, I can't be nonexistent.

"You should leave now!"

Then those voices would interrupt my thoughts and I'd wish I could answer back but then I'd remember. No voice.

"Let me pass!"

It was a few minutes before I heard them again.

"What is it?"

"Their thoughts... They know...Rever..."

Everything was coming in and out like I was trying to find the right radio station but all I could get was static. It was then that I submerged into darkness once more. When I woke again I didn't know where I was, I stood on a dirt road with trees surrounding me. To my left I could see a small ranch with red siding and a brown roof, a navy colored truck sitting outside. I was about to walk over to it when I got the strangest feeling that I wasn't here to go to that ranch.

It didn't feel right. Because of that feeling I continued onward, meandering throughout the streets. It wasn't until I ended up at the red ranch again that I grew suspicious. Somehow I went in a full circle and ended up where I started. Or did I even move at all?

Rustling was heard by the trees. Startled I took a step back and peered into the forest, not seeing anything. I hummed to myself knowing that I heard something. That's when this huge eerie white mystical figure bounded towards me. I braced my self for impact but it went right through me.

I could tell it was an animal of some sort, smokey white tendrils floated around its paws as it danced around. When it ended up in front of me it stopped and stared. I couldn't quite tell what it was, but when I looked at it; It was like everything was right in my world. I felt centered. Gravity wasn't holding me to the ground anymore, this animal was.

So when the ghost like animal turned away and began bounding in the way I went the first time. I had this unexplainable itch to follow it. So I did.

I ran next to it, taking different twist and turns that weren't there the first time. Chuckling to myself as it flew into the air, performing little acrobatic tricks as it went. Executing one last session of perfect flips and maneuvers, it landed in a spot in front of the woods. It scratched its paws on the ground as if it suddenly became interesting, but the woods looked like any other woodland that I've seen here. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The animal spirit looked at me expectantly than at the ground. My eyes averted to the forest floor and widened when they saw the word "wait" flawlessly scratched into the dirt. When I looked back up I watched as the trees sunk into the ground revealing yet another dirt road. I jumped as a metal post shot up from the ground close to where I was standing. It had a sign that said "Maheegan Dr." and it pointed down the ominous street that miraculously appeared.

In my world, I've learned that nothing is always as it seems.

The animal apparition scampered down the road with no worries, it was like it's been here before. It stopped when it realized I wasn't following. The creature tilted its head before appearing behind me and nudging me forward with what I thought was its snout. With each push I walked faster, the trees above tilted over the drive in a curve like fashion as if it were a canopy. When we came to the end of the asphalt there was a mailbox with the numbers 8366 engraved on it.

Puzzled, I judged my surroundings. There was house that was completely surrounded by trees. For miles all you could see were the tallest of trees that towered over the quaint homey shelter. The home is a two story with navy blue siding, a dark grey roof, and it has white trim on the windows with black shutters to frame it. Off to the side, where the drive slightly continued, was a two car garage that matched the main household.

The grass was a vibrant green and finely cut as if someone just finished landscaping. The environment is peaceful and welcoming. The soft whisper of the leaves swaying in the trees and the faint chirp or rustling of animals made it serene. I felt like I was in my realm, like I belonged here. I didn't want to leave this state of tranquility, I felt at home.

My gaze snapped back to the mysterious incorporeal animal. I watched as it made its way up the sidewalk and walked right through the front door without opening it. When it peeked it's head out, I held back a laugh as it looked like a ghost like animal head was mounted on the front door. Curious, I made my way to the main entrance. When I put my hand on the knob to enter, I felt myself being pulled back. I was flying through the air at an insane speed. I was dragged up, up, and up to the sky until I couldn't see the ground anymore. Then I was dropped and falling to my death.

The sensation of falling caused my eyes to snap open and peer around in a rapid motion. I laid on a makeshift hospital bed that was in the center of an office. I took a deep breath in through my nose to calm my unsettling nerves. I thought vampires couldn't dream let alone sleep? If that was a dream it was a very lucid one. Yet it didn't feel like a dream, it felt, real. If that place is real,

I was going to find it.
