(Mightyena's PoV)
Eclipse moves the rolly chair from her desk to the center of the room, sitting in it. The rest of us sit, or float, on and around her bed.
"Right, so... How do you all feel about moving to another region?" She asks hesitantly.
"Sounds like more adventure." Umbreon says, his tail wagging happily at the thought.
Ninetales's eyes widen. "What? But, this is where you've lived your whole life. You're willing to just leave it all?"
"I get that, but... " She sighs. "Look, Umbreon is right. It'll lead to so many new adventures."
I'd say it scares me that she always knows what we're saying, but we have been with her forever. She knows us as well as she knows herself.
"Look, that's a given, Eclipse. But, Ninetales has a point." Braviary counters.
"But..." She sighs again. "But, I don't have any friends here."
"What about John?" Banette asks.
"Ugh~. He's just a guy who's obsessed with becoming champion and knows that I was the previous one for like a week." She explains.
"Yeah, and he also knows you threw your last battle as champion, because you didn't want to be stuck battling for the rest of your life." Ninetales scolds.
"None of us wanted that, Tales." Magius comments.
"Exactly! Thank you, Magius." Eclipse says.
"Ok, but you don't exactly have friends anywhere else either." Ninetales says, rolling his eyes.
"Actually~..." She says awkwardly.
I stand up happily. "You mean APSilvally?! We could go finally meet him?!"
Braviary and Ninetales's eyes widen. Banette, Magius, and Umbreon smile widely, waiting for her response.
"He may or may not have offered a way to Alola and a place to live..." She responds, scratching the back her neck awkwardly.
"Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!" Umbreon shouts, bouncing and running around the room.
"I guess, it would be nice to go. Having friends will at least get you out of your house..." Ninetales says, trailing off.
"I'm sensing a condition here." Eclipse says, suspicious.
"Well-" Ninetales starts, only to be interrupted by the doorbell.
"Crap." She says, looking down at her pajamas.
(Magius's PoV)
"I'll get it. You get dressed, because I'm pretty sure we all all know there's only one person that can be." I say, sighing afterwards, unamused.
I float through the walls to the front door. Ninetales catches up just as I open the door.
"Oh, hi. Is Eclipse in or out? Because, I want another rematch." John says, looking down at us.
We both sigh before saying, "Hello, John."
He laughs. "I have no idea what you just said."
"They said hi." Eclipse explains, fluffing her hair out behind her.
"Oh. Um, hi." He responds.
"Alright, let's get this straight. I am not battling you. Ever again." She states out flat.
""What? Why not?" He whines.
"It's getting pretty tiresome, and I'm not even staying here." She reasons.
"What?! You're moving?! Where to?!" He shouts.
"Like hell, I'd tell you, you creep!!" She yells back.
"Then battle me. Battle me one last time. One last fair battle." He practically begs.
She stands there, staring at him for a moment. "Fine. One LAST battle. How many pokemon?"
"All six, please?" He asks, smiling.
She sighs. "Fine. Come on guys."
"Yay! Battle!" Umbreon shouts, bolting out the door.
We all follow out after him. Eclipse squints in the sunlight, before her eyes adjust. Her and John stand on opposite sides of the yard, the path to the house being at the center. We join Eclipse on her side.
She smirks. "Spoiler alert, you'll be losing." She says with determination. "Umbree, you're up first."
"Yes!" He shouts, running forward into position.
"Alright then. Espeon, let's go!" John shouts.
"Don't underestimate it. You may be its weakness, but it's faster and can predict your moves." Eclipse advises,
Umbreon nods in response.
"Espee, use confusion!"
"Wait till the last second and dodge! Zig zag motion! Get close!"
Purple wave after purple wave is sent towards Umbree, but he does as told, barely slipping under and around them.
"Pursuit!"
Umbree's gold rings glow as he slams into his opponent. Espeon yelps, rolling over to get away. It quickly uses swift, surrounding Umbree in stars and making some distance before pelting him with them. Espeon's tail begins to quiver.
"Watch out! He's started predicting your movements!"
"He needs a way to confuse Espeon's senses..." I mumble.
Eclipse glances in my direction, smirking and giving a small nod. "Umbree, spam dark pulse!"
Umbree smirks, doing as told. The waves of purple wash over the entire field. Espeon looks confused and in pain as the waves hit it. It won't do much damage, since Espeon has a high special defense. But, it's also a dark type move and confuses his senses. His ears lay back as he tries to recover. The Espeon uses psychic in an attempt to buy it some time, but Umbree is immune to psychic attacks.
So, why was it so important to dodge confusion in the beginning?
I look up at Eclipse's smirking face.
To lead them on, of course! Make them unaware of Umbree's immunity.
"Espee, dazzling gleam!"
Umbree's eyes widen. Espeon starts to shine and sparkle, sending much of the sparkle in Umbree's direction. The fairy attack does double the usual damage to the poor dark type. Umbree uses screech and the gleam stops. His opponents ears are reared back, its defenses down.
"Last resort!" Eclipse shouts.
"Dazzling gleam again! Quickly!" John shouts at the same time.
Umbree rushes at Espeon. Just as he makes contact with his opponents side again, the bright light appears once more, making it hard to see. When it dies down, both pokemon are laying on their stomachs completely exhausted.
"Looks like the first round is a tie." John says smiling.
Eclipse nods. I float Umbree over to the rest of us. He stretches out, rolling over to take a nap. I roll my eyes.
"Ready for round two?" Eclipse asks.
"Heck yes!" John shouts.
