Ok, so apparently I've missed battling so much over the past two weeks, that even battling John is fun. You know, even though I already know all his pokemon.

"Marowak, you got this." John calls.

It appears out of its poke-ball, taking a battle stance. I smirk as Braviary moves forward to battle.

"Let's kick this off with fly!" I shout.

Brave nods, shooting up into the air.

"Careful, Maro! Don't let him catch you off guard!" John advises

Brave comes down like a bullet, making a wind as he goes. Marowak dodges, but that's exactly what we want.

"Now!" I yell.

Brave turns, using brave bird and crashing into Marowak. He quickly switches to sky drop, lifting Marowak up into the sky. There's an orange-red flash and both pokemon crash to the ground.

"Fire blast, nice." I comment.

"Yeah, a strong trainer recommended it. We still need to work on the landing though." John explains.

"I wonder who that strong trainer is." I say, smirking.

He rolls his eyes at me. "Maro, recover and use focus blast!" He shouts.

But, Brave has recovered first.

"Crush claw!" I shout.

My pokemon quickly digs his talons in his opponent. The pokemon cries out, before Brave lets it go. Poor thing never stood a chance. It returns to its poke-ball, and Brave rejoins me and the others.

"One to none, and we're just getting warmed up." I say.

Ninetales steps forward, taking his place on the field. John sends out his Linoone. It immediately runs forward using fury swipes. Tales uses zen headbutt to knock the opponent back followed by a fire blast to buy him some time. He uses calm mind while Linoone recovers.

"Hurry, use shadow ball!" John shouts.

His pokemon does as told, but Tales dodges easily. Tales counters with several fire blasts, distracting the Linoone for long enough to use calm mind again. Linoone rushes back towards Tales, using fury swipes again.

"Overheat now!"

Tales is suddenly surrounded in fire. With Linoone so close, she gets engulfed as well. The fire dies down to show Linoone lying down and breathing heavily. Ninetales returns to stand next to me.

Didn't even break a sweat.

"Whoa." John says awestruck as he returns Linoone. "Alright then, Chimecho!" He says, determined now.

"Banette." I say, turning to look at him.

He solutes, smirking, as the mega-stone on the bracelet on his wrist glints in the light. He takes the field. I hold my necklace that has the corresponding mega-stone. Banette is engulfed in light; he emerges mega-evolved.

"Phantom force!" And, with that, he disappears.

Chimecho looks around frantically, confused. Banette appears, hitting her full force, using shadow sneak afterwards and hitting her from behind. He repeats this, basically playing catch with himself. She lets out an ultrasonic cry, shoving Banette far away. She uses heal bell before using astonish. She uses extrasensory, causing Banette to hold his head in pain. With another astonish and an echoed voice, Banette falls down for the count, reverting to normal.

"Impressive." I say, as John returns his pokemon. "I can tell you've improved."

"Thanks." He says smiling.

Magius moves Banette off the field before taking his place. John sends out a Spinda.

You're kidding me.

I look at John unamused.

"Look, if Magius wasn't a ghost type, Spinda would win this battle." He says, shrugging.

I sigh. "Magius, put the poor thing out of it's misery."

"Magius." He replies.

Dark pulse, mystical fire, power gem. One after another with little resistance. The most Spinda did was shoot off a psybeam a couple of times before becoming completely confused. Needless to say, the battle goes quickly. Magius returns to float near my group.

I set a hand on Mightyena's head, scratching behind his ears. "You ready to end this?"

"Yeah. Even though you've already won, it's nice to see where all my pokemon are at." John replies, sending out his Claydol.

I nod. "Yena, this is all up to you bud. You're in control."

He nods, moving in front of his opponent. He uses howl, starting the battle. Claydol uses rock tomb, lifting rocks up and dropping them from the sky. Yena runs at full speed dodging them. As soon as he's close enough, he uses take down. Claydol uses rapid spin, continuously hitting Yena.

Crap, there's gotta be a way he can fight back...

Yena falls back, starting to run circles in the opposite direction that Claydol is spinning, going around him and confusing him. Claydol stops spinning. Well, mostly. He teeters in confusion. All my pokemon cheer happily. Well, except for the two that are asleep.

"Crap, Claydol snap out of it!" John shouts.

Yena uses howl again before landing crunch. Claydol uses earth power, making Yena temporarily collapse. Yena growls, backing away and keeping his distance.

Come on, buddy. You got this.

Yena runs forward, smacking into Claydol with a take down. Claydol falls, struggling and trying to float back up. But, it falls back down. Yena has won. Everyone cheers, going to crowd him. John returns his Claydol, coming over to me. We shake hands.

He chuckles. "I'm going to miss battling you."

I roll my eyes. "That makes one of us." I mumble. "John, go kick that champion's ass. You are more than strong enough to take her down."

He nods. "Wherever you move to, I hope life gets good."

"I think it will." I smile.

I wave as he leaves. Magius comes over, sighing before taking Umbree and Banette inside. Brave stretches his wings before heading inside as well, Yena following after him. Tales walks over to stand next to me. I look down at him.

"So," I start. "Your condition?"

"Ninetales, nine nine tale." He explains.

I frown. "I... I guess, I can do that."

He nods, brushing against my leg before heading inside. I sigh.

But, it's not going to be easy...
