Chapter 38

I head home quickly before I could be followed by Julian and his men.

"Hey Ava how was work?" Uncle Chuck greets.

"Good I'm gonna go bed now" I rush up the stairs.

"Already but you haven't eaten dinner" he days and I speak at the top of the stairs.

"I'm not hungry"

I rush into my room and I lock my door behind me. I feel scared after leaving work and I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight.

I finish off some homework in my sweatpants and vest when suddenly I hear noises coming from the window. I turn around while putting on my glasses and I see there's nothing behind me. My heart pounds rapidly and I sigh deeply.

Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder and I turn around while kicking the person behind me.

"Ah Ava what the fuck" Seth screams as I kick him on his private part.

"Seth oh my god I'm so sorry" I jump out from my seat and help him sit down.

"Damn you kicked me good" he squints his eyes in Pain.

"Sorry but why are you sneaking into my room like that?"

"I was bored and you weren't answering your phone so I thought I'd come over here"

"I'm doing homework" I point out.

"Boring, what homework is it?" He asks as he was in less pain.

"Spanish"

"Easy let me do it I'll finish it in five minutes" he snaps his fingers.

"No it's my work I'll do it" I pull my book away from him.

"I thought you needed help with Spanish" he folds his arms over.

"Er no that was just a way to impress Ryder" I blush because I lied to get closer to him not Ryder.

"Wow, never would I have thought Ava Cassidy would lie about failing a subject to get a guy" he smirks.

"I guess I really liked him that I was willing to lie to him" I gaze into Seth's eyes.

"I'm sure you'll find someone else to like and someone else to lie to" we both chuckle.

"I hope so too" he holds onto my hand but looks down at my arm.

"What happened to your arm?" He notices the red bruise that was left by Julián.

"Oh nothing I hurt myself at work" I lie.

"Doing what that looks bad"

"Really Seth it's nothing" I cover my arm behind my back.

"Ava you know you can tell me anything right" he says sweetly.

"Yeah"

"And you know you can't lie to me because I know when your lying" He squints his eyes suspiciously.

"Yeah"

"Tell me what happened?" He asks and I sigh deeply.

"A guy at work was hitting on me and he pulled me onto his lap"

"What? And you just let him do that" he says frustratedly.

"He had a gun Seth what was i suppose to do?"

"Oh my god Ava why didn't you call me straight away? I would've beaten that guy up black and blue"

"That's why I never wanted to tell you" I sit down on my bed and look down at myself.
