"What do you mean you are like me?" I asked.

"I'm wanted for something too." She said.

Oh dear me.

"For having the seven senses." She said.

"Seven?" I asked.

"The five main ones to see, touch, taste, hear, and smell." she said counting them off on her fingers. "They are kind of hard to explain." She continues. "I have one that allows me to make things out of thin air."

"That is incredible." I breath. "But mind my asking how did you know I'm wanted?"

"Sixth sense." She said simply.

"Oh cool." I said. "I have fire powers." You know that common talk about special mutant powers.

"Yeah I could feel that." She said.

"That's am-" I was cut short by a frustrating huff.

"Alice, it didn't work. The wood keeps on burning when I touch it." Asa said sounding hopeless.

"Come on in I'll see what I can do." Alice said to him.

Asa ducks his head to come into the cave. He seemed to be slightly jumping with electricity. Odd.

Alice gracefully holds out her hands as he approached.

He has almost let his arm into her hands but then jerked it back.

"Asa," Alice said soothing. "It will be okay. I will be fine."

He gulped before lowering his arm. He then looked relieved and his face started relaxing. A soft glow came from Alice's hands. It looked magical, and beautiful.

"That should hold up for about an hour." Alice said.

"I don't know how I could do anything without you." he said to her.

"What did she do?" I asked.

"I was just helping him take more control of his powers." Alice said. "It is a very complex skill really. It is also very hard to explain how it exactly works."

"Oh cool." I said. "What's your power, Asa?"

"I'm telling you both the last time, it is not a power. It's a curse." Asa clenched his jaw, stood up and walked away, jerking back on his hood.

"Why did he say that it is a curse?" I asked. "He is special, like us. Why is he afraid of it?" It was more of whisper but Alice still managed to hear me.

"It's a long painful story that Asa should tell you on his own." She said. "But you must understand that it may take years for him to tell you his story. You have to earn his complete trust."

What did Asa do to think his powers are cursed? I think. It must have been awful.

"Would you like something to eat?" Alice asked me.

"Very much," I said. "I'm starving."

Hours later, night started to fall. Darkness falling upon the light blue sky, turning it to black. The fire I started, and Asa collected wood for, crackles softly, creating a orange glow.

I have my knees pulled to my chest trying to get warmer. I'm freezing. I can't get warm enough.

Asa was already asleep. Alice was dozing off into a world of dreams struggling to keep her eyes open. I was still wide awake staring into the fire.

"You should get some sleep." Alice mumbles.

I nod my head in agreement and lay down by the fire to try to sleep. It is hard to go to sleep cold and busy minded. So much has happened since this morning. Then I finally decided that I can't change that and close my eyes, for it has been a long day.
