~one month later~
Dean would come around to visit the dogs and occasionally bring each animal a packet of dog treats. He loved those dogs so much.
Dean and I were sat on the sofa watching Bobby and Zeus play fight while Kira lay between me and Dean.
"Hey, Sky?"
"Yeah-" I rubbed Kira ears as she nuzzled her head into my hands
"I, uh. I got something to tell you" he looked at me then back down at the dogs. "Well it's not really something to tell but I don't know, maybe ask but-" Dean started mumbling about god knows what..
"Dean. If you have something to tell me go ahead. We're friends now so it's fine. Speak"
"I- well.." Dean looked into my eyes and I looked into his. A beautiful forest green. It made my heart go crazy.
After staring into each others eyes for what seemed like hours, Dean placed his hand under my chin making me stare directly into his eyes. Anything could happen at this moment.
"Dean, I don't.."
He stared at me, curiously. But there was something else there, I couldn't name it. Dean spoke up,
"Listen, sky. I never really do this..and how you got me to do it within a month..please..it might be too soon but.. Ugh, screw it. Sky, I've liked you, for a while now, and well I just.." he looked seriously into my eyes. "I love you Sky, there's no other way to put it."
I lifted my hands and slowly pulled deans away from my face. Dean had never looked so confused and concerned.
"Dean, I like you too" I started, almost in a whisper. "But I.."
Dean looked toward the floor.
"You can't can you?" He whispered
"Dean please," Dean got up from his seat. Turning to the door, he began to walk away. "Dean" I called after him
"Sky, i-I'm sorry."
The door creaked open, hesitating, he stepped out the door. I got up and chased after him but the door slammed shut.
A turned my back to the door and slid down it, in tears. I heard the impala growl as he started up the car then the wheels screeching against the driveway. And that was the last I heard him.
