Chapter 5: Truth or dare
" Hey Malfoy." Hermione greeted Draco the next day, bringing in another tray of medicines.
After giving Draco his evening dosage, Hermione sat down next to him and the two stood in silence for a while.
" Why are you still here?" Draco asked.
" I don't know... It's just... I literally have nothing else to do after this so..." Hermione shrugged it off.
" Let's play truth or dare then." Draco suggested after a while.
Hermione looked at him in disbelief.
" Okay then." Hermione gave in.
" Truth or dare?" Hermione asked, her eyes locking with Draco's. They seemed to be having an exchange of feelings with their eyes as Draco answered, smirking.
" Truth."
" How did you... actually get those wounds?" Hermione's eyes were burning with determination and she sounded as though she had been dying to ask Draco the question.
Draco's smirk immediately faltered and he looked at anywhere but Hermione.
" Truth or dare, Granger?" he whispered, looking down at his pale hands.
" Dare." Hermione whispered back, her eyes trailing from Draco to his hands before looking away.
" Okay then. " Draco said as he grabbed Hermione's hand, startling her.
He stood up in a swift move and pulled Hermione to the front of the bed.
" What are we doing?" Hermione asked, fear lining her voice, which almost cracked.
Draco paused and looked at Hermione before answering.
" Apparating." Draco said.
" WHAT?" Hermione glared at Draco.
Draco closed his eyes for a moment.
" This is the dare, Granger."
" But you're not supposed to go anywhere!" Hermione said irritably.
" Yeah not by myself... Honestly, I'm fine. Besides, if anything happens to me, you'll be there... And you're a healer." Draco rolled his eyes.
" That's true... But-"
" No buts, Granger." Draco said before tightening his grip on Hermione's wrist slightly and disappearing in a swirl of colours.
