Chapter 7: Astoria
" There's a visitor for you, Mr Malfoy." a blonde nurse, who appeared out of no where.
" Where is Granger?" he asked, his face full of curiosity.
" She's attending to another patient right now. She should be back in two minutes." the nurse said rather coldy, opening the door and leaving, while another woman entered.
" Draco." she smiled. Draco felt a surge of hatred flow through his blood, yet he tried to keep his cool.
" Get out." he said, his eyes darkening.
" Don't be so rude... After all, I'm your fiance." Astoria laid her hand on Draco's cheek.
Draco was just about to burst, to lose control, when he heard the door open, the sound of brisk footsteps following right after.
" Hello..." Hermione said pleasantly upon seeing Astoria. Draco could feel that Hermione herself was burning with hatred, not unlike him.
" Granger? What are YOU doing here? A mudblood like you just isn't worth my precious Draco's time. " Astoria said in a sickeningly sweet voice.
Hermione smirked.
" Perhaps we should take this outside." Hermione said, her eyes locked into Astoria's, as though challenging her.
Astoria gave a curt nod and the two woman stepped out the door.
" So... You're the one who is taking care of Draco, huh. " Astoria said, eyeing Hermione.
" Yeah. Got a problem with that?" Hermione replied cooly.
" I do. Name your sum." Astoria said, looking into her wallet.
" No thank you. I don't need your money. What I do need is for you to leave." Hermione glared at the other woman.
" Dear Hermione... You probably don't even know anything about Draco over here... For instance, do you know how he got injured?" Astoria raised her eyebrow.
" As a matter of fact, yes. I know. How do you know, may I ask?" Hermione said pompously.
" I was there." Astoria said.
" Oh."
"You want to know what they fought about?" Astoria asked.
Hermione stayed silent, slightly afraid of the truth.
" They were fighting because Draco refused to marry me. He said that he didn't want to marry a pure blood. His poor mother. She defended him against his father but now that she's out of the way, I will marry Draco anyway. " Astoria said with a grin.
" Didn't you cheat on Draco?" Hermione glared.
" Who cares? Well... Not Lucius." Astoria walked away without another word.
Hermione looked at Draco furiously as she entered his room once again.
" I know you heard everything." Hermione stated. Draco glanced at her. Her eyes pierced into his and he didn't dare break the connection.
" So... Are you going to tell me why you refused to marry a pure blood? Or what happened to your mother?" Hermione asked, tilting her head at Draco.
Draco cast his eyes at the floor and stared at it for a while before answering.
