The next morning Snape woke up to find his wife not beside him. He stretched and looked around; then through the glass doors that led to the porch, he spotted Hermione strolling on the beach. He got up, got into the shorts, which most likely, she had laid out for him, and thinking that he should probably call for breakfast, slid the doors open and came out onto the outer foyer. Hermione waved him over. "Come on out, you won't burst into flames!" He chuckled at her joke and started walking down the sandy path towards her. But she moved further away, onto a boulder jutting out into the sea. One moment she was looking at the waves crashing at her feet and the next, she looked around at him once, smiled and shrugged out of her negligeè. What is she doing? She was wearing a two-piece swimwear underneath. "Hermione!" She dived into the water with a splash. "Oh God she's in!"He instinctively patted around at his waist for his wand but he remembered their wands were still carefully stored inside their suitcases. He took a running start and jumped in after her, remembering a second too late that he didn't know how to swim. His relief of seeing Hermione allright was shortlived as he went into a fit of panic in the lack of oxygen. Hermione saw her husband in distress and swam towards him. She pulled his head over the edge and stopped him from thrashing around and gulping more water in. "Oh no...what have you gotten me into? There better not be any eels in here...I can't stand eels. Oh God! What was that?! Something touched my feet!... Bollocks!" Hermiome was in splits from seeing his antics. He blinked through the salty water traversing into his eyes, to see her in fits of uncontrollable laughter and he too joined in. Thankfully, Hermione had remembered to carry her wand; she used the bubble-head charm on the both of them and together they went under. He took some time to bring his breath into a rhythm and she held his hand through the process of him calming down and getting used to the feeling of deep-sea diving. Under the blue waters with the sun permeating through and shining off of her skin, he looked at his 'Goddess divine' to see what she was going to do next. She indicated to copy her with the movements and dragged him by the hand as they went deeper into the ocean. They watched various aquatic animals, glided in and out through caves of coral reefs and just floated around, leaving bubbles in their wake. It was just them; their breaths were the only sound, the other's self was the only vision in front of their eyes, the other was the only thing that mattered. The moment seemed to flow like a molten sapphire in the deep blue silence. Neither there was earth below, nor sky above.
They swam to the shore and lay soaking wet, exhausted on the soft sand where the water kissed the land. Hermione looked at Snape, whose chest was still heaving and his eyes were glassy, staring up at the bright sky. But there was another type of salt water at the corners of his eyes. He sat up and wiped them away. "That was....phenomenal. Thank you Hermione. That deep silence...the world has distributed it to us. Some sadness is a part of every strife. Some sunshine is the right of everyone's life. I'm telling myself, your eyes are wet without any reason. Every second is a new season. Why do you let go of such priceless moments? Oh Heart, why do you cry?" Hermione saw how a dip in the depths had affected him and she smiled back with twinkling eyes. He was deep in a philosophical mood. "The rustling of the water passing through the sea-weeds, the bubbles popping close to my ear...they were all saying that only you are here,
Only me, my breath and my heartbeat. Such deepness, such loneliness and me...only me. It made me believe in my existence. Thank you, my love."..................................................
A woman at the bar spotted an enigmatic gentleman brooding at the other end of the counter; he seemed to her the saddest man she had ever seen out on holiday. He was not a native- he looked very much lost and clueless about his surroundings, probably not having spent too many days here- so a tourist, obviously. He didn't exactly look like fun but there was a bad boy vibe coming from him; a hint of danger, a waft of adventure. Perfect for a fling. Ooh, time to swoop in! But this one looks intelligent. Not one of those who only worked on the muscles of their abs and not of their brains. This one would only be attracted by smartness. She carefully laid out her hand, ready for the game. He was gravely twirling the ring on his finger. "Looks like you need a drink." He reluctantly glanced at her. "I don't want a drink." "That doesn't mean you don't need one."she smiled sweetly, glad that she had successfully engaged him in conversation."What will it be?" "Martini, please."he finally said, giving in. She clicked her fingers at the bartender, who came to their service. "Shaken or stirred, sir?" "Does it look like I give a damn?"he snapped. Wow, he's rude. Must've had a fight with the Mrs. Or has been ditched. Perfect opportunity! "So what's your problem? Why the long face?" He gave a long sigh,"Same old same old...I brought her here, my wife...I thought she'd be happy...but she left me for some other guy..." He hid his face with his hand, no doubt upset and ashamed. "That's awful..."she said in a low voice, while smiling inwardly. He sipped onto the drink, but looked more like he wanted the drink to turn into gall. "Listen, I know it sucks, but this too shall pass. I'm sure you're infinitely likeable. Maybe she wasn't the one."she consoled and ventured so much as to keep her hand over his. He flinched but didn't pull his hand away. He looked at her but she didn't seem to be able to place his expression; she guessed her charms were taking effect. She forced a blush and a giggle. "I'm sorry, I don't normally do this..." "Neither do I."his lips curled in an awkward smile and then changed the subject before it could get too intimate. "So you like puzzles?"he asked, with a hint of disbelief or was it sarcasm? He indicated at the newspaper carefully tucked under her purse, which she had strategically placed so that the page containing her half-done crossword-puzzle was just visible. Yes, right on target! "Yeah. I hoped my job would let me play with puzzles all day long, but it didn't really work out that way. I'm a police-detective, you see. Turns out, criminals are idiots. If they're not gonna bother to chalenge you, then what's the point, right?" I bet you would find a challenge in me. So far you are irresistible! He cocked his head,"Maybe you're just too swoft." Her brain buzzed out. "Beg your pardon?" " 'Swoft'. It's one of your fake answers of the crosswords . I assume it means lying manipulator, who tells men anything they wanna hear." She shyddered at the harsh truth right to her face. He continued mercilessly,"You brought a prop as a conversation starter. Folded the paper to make it look read, filled in some of the answers, but couldn't be bothered to work at it, so you just put in random letters. You have some natural talent as a liar but not enough brains to see it through. I also assume that you're not a cop." He leaned back in his chair, away from her. The woman was completely flabbergasted. "Dude, I was just trying to-" "Help?"he snorted,"There are very few people who genuinely care- the rest are just curious. You live under the delusion that you can fix everything. There's tonnes of men here- I not good-looking, or charming, I'm not even nice. What I am is what you need- I'm damaged. But I suggest you look for your next charity case somewhere else." Without another word she gathered her things and stumbled out in all haste. Her vacated seat was soon occupied by Hermione, with raised eyebrows. "Gosh, you didn't have to be so mean!" "Yeah...it wasn't really her fault- anyone who would try to take your place would meet with the same amount of harshness from me. And anyways, liars put me off."he finished his drink. "You lied too.."she mumbled. "Whatever. The bet was to get a woman to buy me a drink- which I won."he said with a smirk,"Now, it's your turn." Hermione fidgeted with her fingers. "I don't know how I can do this...I've never stolen a thing in my life!" "That's the entire point of this. Go ahead, I dare you."he challenged, knowing very well that she wasn't one to back down.............
Hermione took a deep breath before entering the thrift shop. "What are you doing? I thought I was gonna do this by myself."she hissed through the corner of her mouth. "If you're gonna flirt your way through this, I'm not going to miss it for the world!"Snape shot back with a chortle. They entered separately and pretended to be interested in different things. "A pretty little jewellery for the pretty lady?"the shopkeeper jingled an elegant seashell-waistband and Hermione approached the counter intrigued. It was indeed pretty, with a single pink pearl in the middle. The price is also not that much. But she pretended to be not that into it. "My husband actually told me to get myself a birthday present. But he won't be satisfied if I go home with this. Show me something a little more expensive. Bring out the good stuff!"she flashed him a smile. The freckly boy turned a little red and hid himself further behind his bangs. "Uhh, ma'am, it's all here-"
"Come on, are you telling me this is it? In a shop like this, there's plenty of unique stuff. I assure you, my man can cough up a few hundred pounds for a great present for his beloved wife."she leaned forward and told him confidentially. Snape chortled again but covered it with a cough and getting very much immersed in an ivory showpiece. "We may have something in the back."the boy admitted and turned to go inside. There's another customer in the shop so it'll be okay. Looks like we have a fish in the net. Mama's gonna be so pleased with me. Here comes the big bucks! As soon as the door closed behind him, Hermione grabbed the jewellery and made a run for it. She didn't stop till she was off that island, and on to another, across a bridge. She was jumping on the spot when Snape joined her. "Oh my God, I did it!" He smiled widely.
The shopkeeper returned to the counter to find his shop devoid of both the customers; only there was some money tucked under a paperweight and a note. : For the waistband my beloved wife stole for a bet. Sorry for this little swindle we pulled on you. Keep the change.................
Hermione was extremely high after their hinjinkery. They went over to a beach where a mix of people from diverse walks of life were partying. Although Snape wasn't really willing to dance to the insane music, he was more than happy to give his wife a twirl. Then he stood back and watched her happily frolicking around. His eyes travelled down to her bare midriff where the seashell waistband was jingling as she danced to the music. She did a little belly-dancing for his benefit and saw his eyes glint. She then indicated him to come closer by gesturing with her finger and biting her lip, which she knew effectively turns him on. He indulged her with a smirk and reached forward to put his hands on her hips as she moved to the music in a snake-like fashion. He hovered close to her face, not enough to make her close the remaining distance between their lips but enough to make her go mad. He looked as if he could take her right there on that beach but he controlled himself. "Come on, let's head back to the resort; Abdul said there's a storm coming." They took off their shoes and strolled down the beach, right at the edge of the water, walking over the cool sand, where the tide had already risen. By the time they reached their abode, there were ripples of thunder all over the sky. They rushed in and went straight into the bedroom. Hermione pushed him back into the bed and stood in between his legs. Snape held onto her hips and pulled her closer; he traced the skin over which the waistband was draped and then he leaned forward to kiss her navel. Hermione closed her eyes as goosebumps appeared all over her body and she knitted her fingers through his hair. He brought his hands around her back and unhooked the ornament and putting it aside, he began to apply wet kisses across her pelvic region and up her stomach. They were giving in to the feelings, when there was a sudden clap of thunder and the rain came down pouring. Hermione skipped over to close the door to the porch. "No, leave it open. I want to see..."Snape said and pushed himself into a position on the bed where he could see the tempest outside. Hermione also followed his gaze and stared out at the turbulent storm and the equally unruly waves gnawing at the land, sending up sprays of phosphorescent lights. With another bout of thunder, the lights went out, plunging them into darkness. Snape watched Hermione's silhouette leaning on the doorframe, her hair getting tangled in the stormy breeze, her hawaian-style skirt flapping behind her and her face illuminated by the flickering lightening, which occured at intervals. She really looked seraphic. She returned to him and cuddled up to his chest. For some time there was no sound other than the rush of the wind, the distant grumble of the dark clouds and the constant drizzle. He felt her shiver slightly. "Are you cold?" She shook her head but nuzzled her cold nose further into the warmth of his neck. After sometime, she raised her head to look at his face and then pulled him into a passionate kiss. He broke it to say,"Now, where's that red lingerie at?" Hermione's face split into a naughty smirk and she quickly went into the bathroom to change into them. When she reentered and stood in front of him in all her glory, he looked like he was having a visual treat. The last time they had both been jetlagged and he didn't want her to strain herself in order to please him; but tonight, he was in a much more romantic mood, what's with the weather encouraging on too. She straddled over his waist and unbuttoned his shirt, never breaking eye contact. Then she leaned down to kiss and nibble her way down his chest, stomach, and a little way under. He groaned in pleasure and ran his hands down her frame, caressing her every curve. With the tumultuous tempest outside and upheaval of emotions inside, they made love, with the raindrops trespassing into their bedroom and permeating as if, right into their skin.
