HAPPY ONCE DAY!! Aka the day we all die for the 1840283th time, only this time permanently 👀

Anyway, brand new chapter for ya while we wait 😏 ❁

Jen's POV

About an hour later, everyone's arrived and I'm leaning on the counter talking to Josh, Emilie and Bobby. I can't help but glance around me every once in a while; Colin's offered Amy about five drinks in the course of thirty minutes. She's accepted three of them, but every time it seems like he's too shy to actually stay and have a conversation with her.

If he keeps going like this, they're both going to be very drunk and very single before the night is over.

But I decide to leave them be, and something else is keeping my mind occupied: Seb's question. He stands at the counter with us for about a half hour, but he doesn't mention it again, and I wish he did.

I mean, HE WAS ABOUT TO ASK ME OUT.

Wasn't he?

Anyhow, either the dude is clear about it or he doesn't mention it in the first place, but this is messing with my head.

I try not to overthink it. Which, of course, leads to me overthinking it even more. Before I allow myself to get to the point where I ask him out, I offer to walk around with drinks and snacks.

Not only am I hyper alert for any signs from Sebastian as the night progresses, but I'm also regretting my choice of shoes. Someone has turned up the music, and a few people are starting to bust some pretty awkward moves, the kind you would only ever show under pure peer pressure or after consuming a decent amount of alcohol.

The only person in the room that rule doesn't apply to has to be Josh. He's in the corner playing air guitar to the song that's blasting from Colin's brand-new speakers, totally in his element.

A few minutes, later Sebastian comes shimmying over to our little group again. He's the kind of guy who can make any move look cool as opposed to dorky, and despite my feet I start nodding my head to the music. We're smiling at each other, having that silent conversation with your eyes that happens at parties, and two minutes later I look as stupid as everyone else in the room.

But it doesn't take me very long before I really can't bear it anymore; the room is getting too hot, my ears are ringing and my feet are begging to be freed.

I excuse myself and slip through the crowd towards the door. When I pass the fridge, my gaze crosses Colin's.

"Fresh air," I tell him. I pull the door open, but then I feel his hand on my arm.

"Hold on, I'm coming with you."

We immediately notice the difference when we step into the hallway; there is more oxygen in the air, and when Colin's door mutes the music inside, I can finally take a deep breath. I see a few crew members sitting on the staircase, talking quietly and probably enjoying some fresh air as well. We smile at them before I open the door of my apartment and head inside.

I immediately kick off my shoes; an involuntary groan comes out and I lean against the counter.

"Okay, what is up with you?" Colin shuts the door behind him and walks up to me. "You've been walking around like you're in pain the entire evening."

"That's because I am in pain."

"What do you mean, you're 'in pain'?"

"Oh, what, you think it's comfortable to walk around in high heels?" I kick my shoes aside, shaking my head. "No, mister, it's a feet killer. And I don't have any feet left at this point."
