This is where I was still planning on writing this whole thing about Ireland and them traveling to London eventually, which seemed like the most exciting thing I'd ever thought of. Except nothing would be happening.

SO. Fast forward to the moment they get back to Jen's parents' house in LA after her trip to Ireland. Most of this was jotted down on my phone back in the summer of 2018 (HOW IS IT 2020 ALREADY), but I did add some new stuff.

(Yes, this chapter wraps things up. Yes, I wrote about weddings and other stuff. Couldn't just let that collect dust on my laptop, could I?)

Jen's POV

Halfway down the driveway, I bump his side with my hip. "Stop acting so nervously. It's stressing me out."

"I'm not nervous."

He sounds absolutely mortified. Like we're sneaking up to a cave of a dragon we're about to fight with nothing but a toothpick. Which is actually pretty close to the truth, I guess.

"Then why are you walking with me like we're adjoined by the arm?" I glance sideways to raise a brow at him.

"Because I like you," he says. "And I want to walk next to you."

"You can walk next to me with a few inches of distance between us."

"I'm fine right here."

"Yeah, because you're nervous."

"I'm not."

"You are."

"I'm not."

"You are and we both know it. Now, if you'd kindly detach yourself from me so I can ring the freaking doorbell?" We are now standing on my parents' porch, inches away from the doormat that says "WELCOME to the Morrisons" (a gift to my mom for their thirtieth wedding anniversary), and Colin is cocking a brow at me.

He looks from me to the front door and back. "This is your parents' house. You shouldn't be ringing the doorbell, you should be going in with a key. Why are you ringing the doorbell?"

"Because I forgot the damn key when I jumped on a plane to Ireland, O'Donoghue!"

He snorts, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "Oh. That's right. And because you're not nervous at all."

"Shut it."

I ring the doorbell again. Five seconds later, Julia opens with a grin that is anything but subtle, but surprisingly she doesn't jump either one of us.

"You're back already? And you finally got your shit together?"

I look from my sister to Colin, trying to erase the fact that they kissed that one time from my mind entirely. "Yes, we did."

"We sure did," Colin nods with glance at me, following Julia into the house.

When we enter the hallway, I swear I can hear my uncle's voice in the living room, but that would make zero sense. And before I can wonder any longer, Julia stops us right before we round the corner.

"Okay, seriously now. What are you guys doing here? Didn't you want to spend some time in Ireland before coming back to LA?"

I look at Colin again, and if my heart could jump out of my chest, it would've leapt up the stairs and catapulted straight to outer space.

Telling Jules surely can't hurt, right?

Encouraged by the glimmer in Colin's eyes, I blurt it out, my fingers finding his behind my back.
