Hi. So, I know you're not supposed to bash your own writing, especially not at the beginning of a chapter, but this is kinda "meh". This always happens when I get too excited about getting to a certain part of the story: my mind focuses only on that, and not on the stuff that happens in between. 😂

Not sure why I'm even sharing this. It's a little "behind the scenes", if you will. Buttt here ya go 😂❁

Jen's POV

I momentarily can't remember my last name by the time we take a minute to breathe. We stare at each other with this stupid smile on our faces, our arms wrapped around each other, and I squeeze his waist.

"Please, don't ever kiss me again when I'm drunk," I sigh, pressing my face in his shirt.

I can picture his eyebrow shooting towards his hairline when his hand absentmindedly rubs my back. "Why not?"

"Because I want to be able to remember every second I spend with you, and every kiss we share. This... I want to remember all of it."

"You do realize you'll never be able to remember every single m—"

"You know what I mean."

He grins, not intimidated by my eye roll when I tilt my head back to look at him. He bites his bottom lip in that irresistible way that makes me want to kiss him even more. "Too bad for you, then," he says.

"Why?"

He moves up his hands to hold my face, looking me in the eye. "Because I still want to kiss you when you're drunk. I still want to kiss you when you stink, or when you're being stupid, or when I'm annoyed at you. I want to kiss every version of you."

My chest blows up again, trying to contain the happiness. It ends up coming out like a series of giggles, which makes him smile even wider.

"Speaking of stinking, you should totally take a shower," I say, teasingly pinching his side.

"I know." He grins. "Too bad you're already showered."

OKAY, CODE RED, CODE RED, HE WANTS TO TAKE A SHOWER WITH ME.

My cheeks get boiling hot from one moment to the next. Suddenly, I'm utterly regretting my decision to shower without him, because now that I'm thinking about it, I suddenly can't think about anything else anymore.

He leaves the room before I can decide to get out of my clothes and shower a second time. By the time he's done, I've finally managed to calm myself down enough to take some bites of the waffles.

Until he sits next to me at the counter with wet, messy hair. Very wet. Very messy.

And I start wondering how I've never seen a couple drooling over each other in public. I could totally see that happening right now.

I swallow, trying to pull myself back together, and I take a big bite of waffle, banana and whipped cream before I dare look up at him. He's already watching me, wiggling his eyebrows.

I raise a brow.

He frowns in response, causing me to bite back my smile.

The ringtone of his phone brings an end to it.

He sits upright, shaking his head at me with a twinkle in his eyes, and dives for his phone a split second before it stops ringing. I watch him pacing through the living room, not really listening to what he's saying. So when he ends the call and stops in the middle of the living room to look at me with a giant smile on his face, I have no idea why.
