***Nicole's P.O.V.***

Ashton thought it would be a good idea if we all stayed home away from all the chaos at the hospital. it's been an hour since we've heard anything and I'm worried sick. These girls are like my own children now.

Everyone decided to gather at our house to keep each other company. I sat quietly in Michael's arms, a tear falling down my cheek every once in a while.

"Where are the girls? What happened to Delilah?" Allie asks me curiously, twisting her hair between her fingers.

"They are at the hospital with Delilah, she's really sick," I reply, hoping she won't ask anymore questions.

"Why are you crying?" She asks again, and I smile weakly.

"I'm just...nervous," I say, brushing through some of her hair. She smiles slightly back at me, then looks at the floor.

Just then, my phone buzzes. Everyone rushes anxiously over time as I answer. Luke picks up in a tone that explains what happened.

"What happened Luke?" I choke, preparing for the worst.

"She-she didn't make it," He says, and I freeze up. She didn't deserve this; why does everything have to happen to us?

I couldn't sleep. This doesn't surprise me, I didn't think there would be a chance. After walking aimlessly around my room for a bit, I climb out the window and sit on the roof holding my knees close to my chest. I take a deep breath and loose myself in thought. I daydream about the perfect life; my happy place.

Delilah would be there; and so would Taylor. Luke would start a weird face contest with Taylor like he always used to. Calum would make unnecessary sexual jokes, Ashton would dance intently to no music, and Michael would sing me to sleep every night.

I finally come to my senses and snap back into reality and notice Michael sitting next to me.

"Can't sleep?" He asks, and I nod my head. There is a long silence where all that could be heard was our gentle breathing.

"Does Allie know what happened?" Michael asks again, looking over to me.

"I think, I explained the best I could," I reply, playing with the ends of my hair. There is another silence, but this one smaller.

"You're so great with kids," Michael says, smiling subtly. I just grin toward my lap.

"The girls are good practice, don't you think?" He asks, and I look up at him.

"Practice?" I ask, a bit confused.

"You know, for our kids?" He replies, but it comes out as more of a question. I don't say anything, but just look out in front of me with a blank face. Another silence.

"What's wrong?" Michael asks, his small smile fading. He scoots slightly closer to me.

"I just... I don't know Mike. There's so much stuff just going very wrong; I don't know if it want to drag a kid into this; something would surely happen." I explain, twisting around the ring on my finger. I look up at Michael, hoping he will understand. He just frowns and I think I see him not slightly.

Still looking ahead of him, he says "I'm going to bed," and climbs back inside.
