***Nicole's P.O.V.***
"Come in," I say, as Kerstynn opens the door. She was probably close to last on the list of people who would want to talk to me right now, which is why I was taken a bit by surprise when she knocked on the door. I walk around the bed and quickly to the door, being careful to avoid the spot on the floor where Luke drooled earlier.
"So, we need to talk," Kerstynn says seriously, stepping into my room. I frown with concern.
"Yeah, what's up?" I ask, sitting on the bed, Kerstynn following. She takes a deep breath, before letting it out at once.
"I am um... I'm pregnant," She says, looking at me and hopefully waiting for a response.
"Oh my god Kerstynn that's-that's wonderful!" I say, immediately embracing her in a tight hug. She giggles slightly, which is relieving to hear.
"I'm assuming you've still yet to tell Luke?" I ask, and she nods.
"Yeah, It's only you and Mike who know. I just don't know if he wants a kid right now, with me," She says, looking at her lap. I scoff and roll my eyes.
"Stop. He'll be delighted!" I reply, but she just shrugs.
"Hey, look at me," I say, this time she looks up.
"Everything will be fine. I know I've said that a lot and half the time it's not completely true but this time I mean every it. For real," I finish, gently putting my hand on her arm. Kerstynn breaks into a small smile, and hugs me. I return the embrace, grateful for her and Luke and Mike and everyone. I honestly have no clue what I would do without them. All I know is that it wouldn't be good.
"Thanks Nicole," Kerstynn says, as we break away. Without another word, she walks out the door and disappears down the hallway. I flop backward onto the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited that Kerstynn is pregnant, she should be too, but I feel like it will be another excuse of Michael's not to you know, get married. Why the hell is he even holding off? He's the one who purposed for fuck's sake.
All of the sudden, someone walks quickly into the room. I look up to see the one and only, Michael. I sit up."Hey Mike?" I ask, and he rummages through his drawers. No response.
"Michael?" I say once again, this time getting off the bed. Again, no response. Lovely.
"Michael!" I shout, grabbing his wrist right before he reaches the door. I turn him around to face me. I look down at my hand, feeling something on it. As I turn it around, I see blood on my palm.
"What the hell?" I ask in disbelief, looking at Michael's badly bruised knuckles. He sighs in defeat, looking at the floor.
"You didn't," I say firmly with disbelief. Michael refuses to make eye contact. I lead him over to the bed and plop him down, myself following. I inspect his hand and wrap it up quickly. He tries to get up.
"Michael," I say with force, and he sits back down. He doesn't confess right away, so I decide to question.
"Why did you do this? Where did you do this?" I ask, remembering his bad habit of punching walls out of frustration.
"I didn't punch the wall," He says under his breath, still refusing eye contact. I abruptly scoot closer and turn his face toward mine
"Then who," I say, not as a question because I already know the answer.
"Luke," He mutters quietly, looking back down. Tears sting at my eyes. It's probably all because of that stupid prank.
"That poor fucking guy! He never did anything to you to deserve that! It was just a stupid prank Michael and I'm sorry!" I say, all in one breath. Before I know it, a tear or two escapes.
"It's wasn't about the prank alright? It's not your fault, it's mine," He finally says, touching my arm gently.
"I don't know what you guys were fighting about, but there was no reason to punch him!" I yell, flinching out of his grasp. He is now crying a little bit. God, I hate it when he cries. I'm such an asshole.
"I'm sorry," He says, running his hands through his hair and resting his forehead in his palms, leaning on his knees.
"Don't apologize to me," I say gently, gesturing to the door. He sighs and gets up, walking out the door.
All I can think now is, this wedding is never gonna happen.
