"What kind of a name is Key?""My kind of a name."
I say, glancing at Jin briefly as I chop up vegetables, frying them for breakfast. I'm sick of his cooking, it leaves a lot to be desired. He sighs, wincing when I start to cough again. Even after me and Taehyung's outburst last night I can tell he's concerned, something that makes me feel...something.
"Here let me help."
He says, taking a knife out of the block and grabbing an onion.
"That hasn't been sharpened, you should, just give it to me."
I say, snatching it away from him and sharpening it quickly.
"Hold the knife like you're holding a tennis racket, make sure you're comfortable with it before you start chopping."
"I know how to cook Key."
He says, bemused. I raise an eyebrow, handing him the onions to mince before returning to my station. Soon enough I see him starting to blink away the tears. He mutters something under his breath before grabbing a towel to wipe his eyes.
"You're cutting it wrong, see you cut the ends off before you chopped them. That means all the juice comes out and makes your eyes water."
I say, finishing up and throwing everything into the pan. Jin's said he used to be the maknae in his family, no wonder he's still at the basics for cooking. I hand him the knife and grab his hands, slowly showing him how it's done the proper way. He catches on quickly, and when I come back I see he's minced the rest of the onions. I smile, putting them into a container for later as Jin starts plating breakfast.
"You obviously know how to cook, who taught you?"
Jin questions, fingertips touching my back as he moves past me.
"It was a natural talent I discovered, and I was good enough to be hired by a four star restaurant. I worked as the head chef while my friend waitressed, but that happened ages ago..."
I reminisce, the good memories bittersweet in my mind, so vivid I can almost smell the restaurants fragrant spices. I can almost hear Wings cursing at a customer, her job teetering on non existent as her temper flares up again.
"You obviously never lost your touch."
Jin says and I smirk, even though my skills have dulled they haven't vanished completely.
"If you ever want to learn..."
I start, wondering if Jin even wants to learn how to cook.
"Really?"
He pauses, surprise written over his features. I nod, forcing myself not to explode with excitement about having an apprentice. Now that the food is done I realize no one is awake but the two of us, and run into Jungkook and Tae's room while Jin wakes Namjoon.
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"
I shout as I open the curtains, Jungkook yanking the blankets over his head. Taehyung doesn't even flinch, the boy sleeps like a log.
"Noooooooooonaaaaaaaaaa"
Jungkook whines, his fluffy bed head the only thing I can see still outside of the comforter. I huff, we have to leave in fifteen minutes. With only one option I grab the bottom of the blanket and yank it off, letting it tumble into a pile at the foot of the bead. Without a second glance at Jungkook I head to Jimin and Hoeseok's room and repeat the same procedure, yanking open curtains and yelling. I see everyone has wandered to the table, be it begrudgingly, and realize Yoongi is missing.
"Hey you really don't want to wake Yoongi up..."
Namjoon says, his eyes wide as I head to the last bedroom.
"We have to leave in five minutes for a photoshoot, there's no time for him to be a whiny baby about having to wake up like the rest of us."
I say, knocking loudly on his door before going in, throwing open the curtains, and grabbing his phone off the bedside. I set a thirty second timer and turn up the volume, chucking it on the other side of the room. When I glance at the bed only Yoongi's eyes are showing as he sends a fierce glare in my direction, hatred pouring out of his pupils. I pause for a moment, honestly scared, before remembering this is my job, if I don't wake him up we will be late, and I'm pretty sure I can run faster than he can.
"Time to wake up sugar, we're leaving in five."
I say, walking out just as the annoying alarm starts blaring.
