"I did it!!"I shout as I burst into the dorm, waving my paper that certifies me as a tattoo and piercing artist in the air. When I see it's only Tae in the dorm my noise level rises.
"TAE I GOT IT!!"
"REALLY?"
He shouts back, grabbing the paper from me and scrutinizing it in the light. I know it's an odd goal to have, but I've always wanted to be able to make a permanent mark on something, and with tattoos I can do that. It's a type of graffiti that will never be erased.
"That's beautiful."
Tae says, and I realize I must've been speaking my mind. I receive a bone crushing hug which I grudgingly accept.
"So do you need someone to practice on?"
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay Tae this is a piercing gun, it makes a small whirring sound while it heats up, don't be worried."
I lay out a few studs on the table, letting Tae choose one for me to insert into the gun.
"Ready?"
I ask, and he nods nervously. I slide the gun up onto his ear, checking to make sure the placement is right.
"You should feel a small pinch."
I say before pressing down, Tae flinching sideways at the worst possible time.
"TAEHYUNG"
"KEY THAT HURT!"
"YOU MOVED!"
I shout, the earring now way too high on his ear lobe. Then, Jin walks in with Namjoon in tow.
"What is going ON?"
He says, going from confused to shouting. I can imagine how it looks, me with a big metal thing in my hand while Tae is holding his ear and possibly about to cry.
"It's not what it looks like!"
I shout back, Taehyung grabbing the mirror off of the table and scrutinizing my shitty job.
"No no Key you just need to put one underneath!"
He says, the pain obviously not knocking him out that bad as an idea strikes him.
"What the hell are you two doing?!"
Namjoon says as he follows Jin inside, and I realize I'm in quite a lot of trouble now.
"She's piercing my ears guys! I'm old enough you can't tell me what to do!"
Tae says, wincing when I touch his ear.
"I'm so sorry Tae-"
"No just put another one underneath, it'll look fine don't worry."
"Tae-"
"Just do it Key!"
He says, faking tough as always. I shrug and while Jin throws his hands in the air I let Tae pick out another diamond stud.
"Anyone else up?"
I say after giving myself a matching ear to Tae, the pain more minima, than I thought. Two diamond studs now stick out of my ear almost identical to Taehyung. I line up the gun to my other ear and ignore Jin saying that I'm being rash, throwing a small hoop on my other ear. By the end of the night I've given Yoongi two small silver pearls, Jin and Namjoon matching diamonds, and Jimin only went for one on his right. My left ear is covered with hoops running up the back and I know I'll have to take out every single one before my fight, if not I'm asking for a torn ear. The fight, God I'm dreading it so much. Jungkook still has a dark bruise that makes me wince whenever I see it and I have to fake a smile when he sits down for his piercing. He must see through it, eyes glaring at me.
"You're going for a fight tonight aren't you?"
"Jungkook you know I can't quit, it's fight in the ring or get attacked in real life."
I explain, Namjoon glancing sideways at me.
"Key you know you don't have to go fight."
He says around a mouth of fried kimchi, and I shrug. I still have a few hours before and I'd rather not think about it.
"Namjoon it's a life you can't run from, once you're in the ring you're in and you can't leave. I need to go for at least three more months to pay off my debts."
He looks frustrated, Jungkook running off to his room in an attempt to avoid conflict. We both sit on the counter eating cheap ramen and kimchi, an unresolved argument hovering around us like a thick cloud. When Hoseok comes back I push off the counter, glad there's someone here to break the ice.
"Hobi you're the last one to get pierced, I just got my license!"
I say while he sets his gym bag by the door, sweaty bangs sticking to his forehead. He glances at my ear and shakes his head, muttering "I see that" before shoving past me to the kitchen. Him and Namjoon talk in hushed tones, Hobi grabbing my half eaten bowl of food of the counter and I try to overcome his rudeness. Instead of dwelling on it I head to the closet, pulling out my bag of clothes I've collected and heading to Jungkook's room to change. He's in there playing a game on his phone and I turn him to face the wall, quickly switching to the puma bra and tight leggings, stealing one of his jackets and zipping it up.
"Done."
I say and he flops onto his back, still absorbed in some stupid game I believe is called Flappy Bird. I start to take out the metal hoops on my ear, setting them on his desk.
"Key, who are you fighting?"
"They barely hit my weight class Jungkook, don't worry I'll probably be back before dark."
"Can I come with you?"
"No."
I say, ending the conversation. I'm still mad at him for going to the ring on his own, shocked nothing happened to him other than a small beating. He sighs and turns up the sound effects, making me grind my teeth as I get ready to leave. I have a few hours to kill, and the gym is still my favorite place to waste time when I can afford a membership.
"I'm leaving Jungkook, stay here, stay safe."
I say as I walk out. I doubt he looks up from the glowing screen.
Things aren't looking so hot tho...why do you think they're fighting so much? Cabin fever? Why is Hobi always so negative? Remember the bonus chapter is soon to happen...
