Nadine
9:45 am – 9: 47 am
"Don't do this Jonah, please." I begged the second we entered the gym. He finally let go of James's hair and walked straight to me.
"Who do you think you are to tell me what I can and cannot do?" He asked. My heart was pounding hard against my chest, I knew that if I said the wrong word he would kill me or worst, he would kill James right in front of me. And so I took a couple of seconds to decide what I was going to say next.
"The Police are right outside, Jonah. You don't have to kill me or James ... you can turn things around ... this is not you, please Jonah ... please." I begged him. He stared at me for a second before he raised the gun and pointed it straight at my face.
"I'm going to shut your mouth for you."
"No!" James then yelled and Jonah rolled her eyes. That was when I noticed a movement from right outside the gym. Kim was standing right by the door with a baseball bat in his hands. Jonah was about to turn but I stopped him. And I did that by doing the first thing that came to my mind.
I slapped him as hard as I could.

JAMES
9:47 am – 9:50 am
"You bitch!" Jonah yelled at Nadine. I was about to trip him with my good leg when something unexpected happened. All I heard was the sound of wind swooshing past my ears and Jonah fell unconscious to the floor. I looked up and saw Kim holding a baseball bat.
"Holy fuck ..." I said and he smiled widely.
"Now kids, let's go before this dickhead wakes up." He replied. Nadine rushed to my side and helped me get up.
"I'm sorry I can't protect you," I whispered to her.
"What are you talking about? You ARE protecting me." She replied right away. Kim reached for my other arm and helped me stand straight. I started feeling lightheaded and weak at that moment, my wound kept on bleeding and it already soaked one side of my pants.
"I'm tired, I want to sleep," I told them.
"No ... James ... please keep your eyes open for me." Nadine begged. Her voice was the last thing I heard before everything went black.

Avery
9:47 am – 9:52 am
"I know I am. And by choosing to stay behind, I am technically dying on my own terms ..., not yours or anyone else's." I answered, trying to sound braver than I really am. Elliott grinned and looked up at the ceiling before he averted his eyes back to me.
"That's actually a pretty valiant move of yours but unfortunately Ave, she will not survive. Since the police are right outside the school's premises, we already positioned two guys at the back willing to shoot any student who is excited enough to run as quickly as they could towards safety. You see, we don't care if we live or die ... we just want this town to hurt badly. Lucky for me, the number one person in my kill list is already here." Elliott said before raising his empty hand towards me. I took a deep breath and firmly gripped the handle of the kitchen knife I was hiding at the back of my jeans.
"When I die, people will remember me as a good kid. When you die, people will remember you for the terror you brought to this town. They will hate you forever, Elliott." I told him and he started laughing.
