Part 1:- (let's meet them all)
It was night time and the clocks were striking at 2 a.m. Thunder and heavy wind roared over Kolkata city. While the rest of the city slept peacefully, one lonely soul remained awake.
In the Black Tigers' mansion, the basketball court was illuminated by garden lights. The court was silent except for the sound of a basketball tapping on the concrete floor, echoing through the stillness. A man dribbled the ball with intense focus, his sweat mixing with the rain that began to pour, but he seemed indifferent to the downpour.
Inside the mansion, another man was tossing restlessly in his bed, disturbed by the thunder. He finally woke up, grumbling in frustration.
Man, huffing angrily: "What the hell, this thunder—I'll have to tell everyone, it's never going to let me sleep in peace." He made a face of exaggerated distress, but then his gaze fell on the balcony door. His eyes widened in surprise.
Man: "What the hell, Karan, why didn't you close the door, you stupid person?" (The man was none other than Karan, cursing himself.) He got up from bed and headed toward the balcony door to close it, but as he did, his gaze fell on the basketball court. He sighed in disbelief and left his room.
Outside, the man was venting his anger, throwing the ball into the basket repeatedly. Suddenly, he noticed the rain had stopped. Turning around, he saw Karan standing with an umbrella over their heads, offering a small smile.
Man: "Sanskar bhai, it's enough now, come inside." (The man was Sanskar.)
Sanskar, with a blank expression, said nothing. He threw the ball with full force, shattering the glass basketball hoop into millions of pieces. Without a word, Sanskar walked away, leaving Karan staring at the broken hoop with a sad expression.
Karan, murmuring: "It was the 35th hoop that bhai broke today. Poor hoop, people only repaired it three days ago. Bechari (poor soul). Rest in peace, darling." He then ran after Sanskar, following the rain of changing weather.
When Karan came inside, he found Sanskar heading upstairs. Karan sighed sadly as he saw his brother's emotionless face and went back to his room to sleep again.
Next morning:-
(The mansion had no bedrooms in the basement or on the ground floor. The basement housed secret meeting rooms and quarters for guards and servants, accessible from outside. The ground floor included a gym, study (also present on upper floors), hall, dining room, kitchen, indoor swimming pool, etc.)
Karan came downstairs and found RV and Rishi arguing vocally about something. He approached them, shrugged his shoulders, and grabbed a pancake from the plate between them, rolling it up and eating it.
Karan, clearing his throat: "Hey RV bro and Rishi bro, what happened?"
RV: "This bhukkar (foodie) already ate six pancakes and now wants the last one too."
Rishi: "Correction, I ate seven. And what can I do if I want more? You don't like pancakes, so why are you stopping me?"
Meanwhile, Karan bit his tongue, as the pancake that was the cause of their fight was already in his stomach.
RV: "Today I want to eat it, so I will," he said, reaching for the plate, only to find it empty. He looked at the plate, then at Rishi.
Rishi, noticing this: "Hey, I didn't eat it. I was fighting with you," both scratched their heads in confusion and then looked at Karan, who was grinning widely.
Karan: "You both were fighting, but I didn't know why. The pancake was getting cold, so I ate it since I thought it was lying there."
Rishi, making a face: "Ghatiya insaan (cheapster)."
