Episode# 20:- knot of a Sacred Relation

It was the morning after the mehndi day. Swara woke up and, after washing her mehndi-filled hands, was shocked to see its color. It had darkened to a deep maroon, almost resembling black.

Astonished, Swara hurried downstairs. Everyone was having breakfast, and since the wedding was scheduled for the night, they were all feeling relaxed. Swara, chirping loudly,

Swara (happily): "Dad, look at my mehndi color!"

Shekhar and the boys turned toward her after hearing her chirpy voice and saw her hands, which she was proudly showing off.

Sanskar didn't smile at the sight of her mehndi; instead, he smiled while gazing at her face, which was glowing like a bright star, adorned with a beautiful smile.

Karan, while eating a paratha he held like a roll, said, "Lolli, it's damn beautiful! Mehndi really suits you well." Rishi and RV nodded in agreement.

Shekhar: "Beta, your mehndi is really beautiful. Now come, have your breakfast."

Swara, with a pout: "Dad, I don't want to do this marriage."

Everyone, including Sanskar, was horrified: "What?? Why??"

Swara, glaring at Sanskar: "This dragon Godzilla didn't say anything about my mehndi, so now this marriage is cancelled."

Everyone sighed in relief while Sanskar chuckled and looked at Swara, who was staring at him with narrow eyes. He took a deep breath and approached her, as she stood there with puffed-up cheeks, her arms crossed over her chest.

Sanskar, while grabbing her hands: "Do you really want to know my answer?"

Swara, suddenly nervous: "Umm... yeah."

Sanskar, smiling, didn't say a word. He simply held both her hands and kissed her palms before walking away. Swara stood there for a moment, trying to process what had just happened. When she finally realized, she blushed hard, noticing her brothers and father giving her teasing smiles. Embarrassed, she ran away, causing everyone to burst into laughter.

Finally, the time had come for them to tie the knot of the most sacred relationship. Sanskar sat at the mandap, waiting for Swara. Shekhar sat beside him, while the trio of overprotective brothers stayed with Swara.

Like at the mehndi, they didn't leave the makeup artist alone without thoroughly inspecting her makeup supplies—though out of 100 items, they didn't know the name or purpose of 99 of them. Their inspection ended with the makeup artist pushing—or rather throwing—all three out of the room before bolting the door shut.

Two hours later, Swara was completely ready. Her brothers escorted her downstairs, and Shekhar had happy tears in his eyes. He missed Sumi, wishing she could see their daughter in her wedding dress.

Swara sat beside Sanskar, who gave her a soft smile, which she returned. They were married. Karan, Rishi, and RV presented Swara with many gifts.

Swara: "Bhai, it's my wedding day. Instead of asking for gifts for joota chupai, you're giving gifts to me?"

RV, smiling: "Because you came into our lives like a soothing ray of sunlight. This is just a small thank you from us. You can't imagine your value in our lives." Rishi and Karan nodded in agreement.

Swara didn't say anything. She simply hugged her brothers tightly, tears flowing from her eyes.

She never imagined that after living alone for so many years, she would find such a loving family. Now she was confident that soon Sumi would join this family as well. (They had discovered that Sumi was alive, but so far, they hadn't been able to track down her whereabouts.)
