Episode#7:- (pain of past)
Swara's Story:
Swara settled on the couch, with Sanskar and RV facing her, and Karan and Rishi sitting beside her. She began to speak, her voice steady but filled with emotion.
Swara: "We were a very happy family. I was the only child of my parents. My father was a businessman, and my mother was a housewife. Everything was perfect until the day I met Ritki Bhai in Mumbai. You might wonder how I ended up in Kolkata after so many cities."
"When I was eight, one day, someone rang the doorbell. Mom answered it and found a man crying on the doorstep. When she asked him who he was, he claimed to be my father's half-brother, Mr. Sanjeev Sinha."
"Mom had never heard of a half-brother. He said he was the son of my dadi from her second husband. Mom, believing him, let him in and asked why he was crying. He told her something that left her in shock. I only heard one thing clearly: my father was dead."
"He claimed my father had sent him to us because he was dying in the hospital when he met my father. Dad had given him our address before he passed away. We never saw Dad's body; it was too damaged from the accident."
"Mom was devastated. Our uncle began living with us, and since Mom had no other family, she accepted him as her brother and let him stay."
"Three years went by. Our uncle took over the business while Mom stayed home, silent and withdrawn. Despite my efforts to cheer her up, she never smiled."
"When I turned thirteen, Mom discovered that our uncle was involved in illegal activities. When she confronted him, he revealed his true nature. He started torturing Mom and even tried to harm me, but she always protected me."
"She endured this for two years. One day, she learned he was planning to sell me. She came into my room, gave me some money and an address, and told me to run."
"I begged her to come with me, but she said if she did, he would come after both of us. She insisted I leave and pushed me out of the house, locking the door behind me. That day, our uncle was away."
"I banged on the door, pleading, but she only told me to go. I left and found myself at a nearby bus station. I boarded a bus without knowing where it was headed. It stopped near a railway station. I lost the address she gave me."
"I took a train and ended up in Delhi. I was fifteen and terrified. An older taxi driver helped me and took me to an orphanage. The owner, a kind-hearted woman, took me in."
"I stayed in Delhi for four years. When I turned nineteen, I learned that people were asking about me at the orphanage, showing my photo. Scared, I asked to be transferred to the Shimla branch of the school where I was teaching. I moved there to escape."
"And then, when those people reached Shimla, I moved to Kolkata a few months back."
Swara paused, her tears falling silently. Sanskar, RV, Karan, and Rishi looked at her with deep sympathy, each of them feeling the weight of her pain.
Swara laughed bitterly, her eyes brimming with tears.
Swara: "I'm cursed. I never even got to see my parents one last time."
Karan, concerned: "Your mother is also dead?"
Swara: "Yes. When I was in the orphanage, I called home once but didn't reveal my identity. I asked about my mom, and someone told me she died in an accident. I'm certain my uncle, Sanjeev Sinha, killed her and staged it as an accident. I think that call alerted him to my whereabouts in Delhi. I'm convinced he's responsible for my father's death too, as we never saw Dad's body."
