Town Kaishi

>hey please remember to like and comment<

As I walked towards the town, I saw two huge gates. Each gate was 17 feet tall, made of lumber and had a sign above it.

“Town Kaishi; the Beginning Place for Adventurers,” the sign read in big bold letters. The gates were open, welcoming to me and anyone else on the road.

As I walked inside, I saw street vendors lining the cobblestone roads. They were selling swords, knives, jewelry, books, and some colored substances in glass bottles. Behind them were stores and shop selling the same items. More expensive, but the toys inside looked so much deadlier.

“Hey, you, young man!” a voice called. I turned in a circle looking for the voice.

“Who, me?” I asked.

“Yes, you. You’re not from around here, are you?” I finally found the source of the voice: a disheveled old man with gray hair covering his face.

“Who are you to ask?” I asked suspiciously. I had already been attacked by monsters that made ice out of thin air. I didn’t want to take chances.

He didn’t seem to understand my struggle, as his face crinkled in irritation. “Well, you’re a disrespectful young man, aren’t you? You won’t get any help with that attitude.”

Help? I didn’t need to make more enemies, so I shifted my tone. “I apologize, sir,” I said in a calmer tone.

“I’ve had a rough day.”

He smiled at my calmer tone. “Don’t sweat the small stuff, kid. It happens.”
“So, can you please tell me where I am?”

“You’re in a town called Kaishi. Where people who want to become adventurers gather. Kaishi’s located in the Elixir Region.”

“Region?” I drew closer eagerly. Finally, some information on where I was. “What are the other regions? How many are there? What kind of towns…”

“Alright-alright, calm down, boy,” the man said, waving his hand. “I’ll explain it.” He cleared his throat and continued. “There are nine different regions: the Elix, Algero, Faltz, Garris, and the Spline. Different classes, merchants, demons and monsters reside in each one.”

“Alright, but those are just five regions; what are the other four?”
He chuckled, revealing yellowing crooked teeth. “You’ll have to find those on your own, kid.”

I sighed. Guess I wouldn’t be getting all my information in one go. “Well, what’s this class you spoke of?”

“Strength leveling system, from weak to strong.”

I nodded. At least I knew where I was now. “Thanks.”

“Don’t mention it,” he said with another yellow, crooked smile. “Oh, and if you want to register as an adventurer, just head over to the guild over there.” He pointed in the direction of one of the shops. As I glanced at the shop he pointed at, I turned back to see him gone: vanished into thin air.

I shrugged. No time to search for him; especially if he was anything like the guys I fought before. I had already gotten close to making him an enemy: I didn’t want to push my luck.

As I walked towards the guild he pointed out, I glanced at the vendors and shops along my path. Other people caught my gaze, and whispers started up. I didn’t pay them any attention: better I focus on getting to the guild.

The guild was built like a tavern, with a counter across one third of the square room. On the other side of the counter was a young woman. She wore a blue blouse with a matching bottom fitting nicely around her plump body. Her hair was colored ember, flowing over her fair skin, and her green eyes gazed on me with the loving light of a mother waiting for her children to return home.
