after getting some painkillers for jinyoung, you made your way back to his house. you saw him lying down on the sofa, his hand rubbing his temples and his eyes closed.

"sorry, did i take too long?" you asked, making him open his eyes.

"no," 

you took two pills and a glass of water to him.

he quickly took the pills and went back to his room to get more rest. before he walked in, you said one more time, "i'm sorry for whatever happened that day."

he merely shook his head and went back into his room. you looked at the time.

6:49pm and there was school tomorrow. 

you sighed, "i guess i could stay for another hour,"

not knowing what to do, you took a seat on his sofa and starting using your phone but you soon drifted off to sleep.

you felt someone shaking you gently as you stirred from your sleep.

"oh, oh, sorry," you apologized profusely as you stood up from jinyoung's sofa.

"no, it's fine, it's just that it's really late and you still have to go to school tomorrow. sorry for waking you up and you don't even have a new set of uniform here anyway," jinyoung explained.

"oh," you looked at the clock hung in his living room.

12:02am and you had to be up in about 6 hours. you started panicking as you tried to turn on your phone, expecting tons of missed calls from your parents but unfortunately, your phone wouldn't even turn on. you cursed under your breath, apologized to jinyoung again and quickly left his house. right before you walked out, he followed you.

"i'll walk you home, it's not safe to walk alone at this hour,"

"it's fine, it's late and you need to rest,"

"i'll walk you home, don't try to argue," he said and waited for you to lead the way.

on the way to the bus stop, you asked jinyoung, "can you check what time the bus will arrive?" 

jinyoung took out his phone, "15 minutes."

you groaned, "forget it, i'll walk home, you can go back first if you want to."

"just walk," he ordered.

it was a quiet yet comfortable walk with jinyoung on the way back home and he decided to break the comfortable silence, "why did you want to help me cheer up when it was your first week of school?" 

you thought about it for a second, "just wanted to see you happy."

he nodded and it slowly became more awkward.

"thanks for trying i guess," 

you shrugged, "didn't really work, did it?"

"at first i didn't even want to try when your friends told me about you because i didn't think i should involve myself in something like this. plus, i just wanted to start afresh and focus on my grades but i decided to try," you continued.

"why? why'd you suddenly decide to try?"

"i'm not sure either," you paused for a while, "but my job isn't done so i'll keep clinging onto you whether you like it or not till you feel happier."

he smiled a bit as he looked down to the floor, trying to hide it.

"and once i'm happier, you'll leave?" he asked, slightly scared.

"of course not, i'll still be your friend but at least i'll have bragging rights so i can show woojin and haknyeon," you laughed, "i won't leave once you're happier since it seems like we're friends now, right?"

he nodded slightly, "i'm your friend now? since when?"

you acted upset and he smiled a bit again, "i'm joking of course."

it was quiet again and the two of you were approaching your house.

"why did you act so cold towards me though?" you asked right before you had to say goodbye. 

"this is your house right? you should quickly go in. rest well, don't wake up late for school tomorrow," he changed the subject but you brushed it off.

"get well soon, rest well, and again, i'm sorry," you turned around and walked into your house and saw jinyoung walk home.

you turned around, smiling until you saw your mother standing with her hands at her hips, "care to explain?"

hi i'm back

i'm finally done with my exams and i literally just typed everything that i could think of bc i didn't really plan this through so i'm sorry if it doesn't flow

and i'm sorry for all the typos and stupid grammar mistakes, it's currently 12:35am

but aye i'm finally back and thank you for 700+ reads, small achievements aye

i'm gonna get my grades back soon so i might start ranting about them in the next chapter lol
