"we're here now. everything's gonna be okay." councillor Marcus Kane lowered his gun after shooting the grounder that held finn and i hostage. finn and i looked to each other, not sure how to respond.

were we supposed to be thrilled that our people had somehow managed to find us, or was i supposed to worry of what was yet to come. truthfully, i didn't know what fate was worse, being tortured for information and killing their people at war, or for being taken back to the people of the ark. yes, i may have been pardoned but that doesn't change the fact that they will always see us as criminals, not to mention trying to take back leadership after everything i built.

soon after being cut loose from my restants a woman with brown hair and slightly tanned skin approached finn and i as we helped each other to our feet. "don't stand." she instructed but we were already in an upright position.

"i'm fine. i need to get back to the dropship." i inform them. for all we knew they were still there, alive. if that was true, i prayed it wouldn't be chaotic seeing as how it was only clarke left to be in charge. 

"hey, where's clarke? is she alright?" the lady asks just before i could begin walking away.

"she was when we left." finn began to explain. "we'll take you to her."

finn and i began in the direction of the dropship with who i now presumed to be clarkes mother following behind, just before being stopped my kane who stood in our path.

"slow down." he then walked past us to a man and my eyes followed. "sinclair, we're splitting up. one guard detail comes with me to the dropship. everyone else here goes with you to alpha station. you have the coordinates, we'll follow when we can." he instructed just loud enough for me to hear from where i was.

"yes sir."

"anything more from jaha?" he asked. just hearing his name sent shivers down my spine as i thought of how my next encounter with him would play out.

"no. nothing in the past hour." i furrowed my brows, wondering what was going on. was jaha in a different station when they landed? did they get split up or something?

"okay." kane sighed then turned back to up. "you six with me." he ordered to the group behind him. then he stared straight at finn and i. "you two, lead the way."

...

finn and i stood outside the dropship just as told and waited for kane to give the signal, whatever the hell that meant. i paced in my spot  just like finn had done, anxious for any survivors.

"we need a stretcher." a man yelled and both finn and i jumped up, running to the dropship only to be stopped by the two guards that were meant to watch us, no trust at all.

i looked to finn, nodding subtly and he nodded back showing we shared the same thoughts. finn and i began running the other way, disorientation the guards and having them chase us. we entered the tunnel that was just outside the wall, and it lead us into the camp. 

as we climbed through, everywhere was covered in ash and bones. the weapons that lay beside most were belongings of the grounders giving me some faith that our people were still alive. if not, at the very least many grounders were barbequed. 

"where is everyone?" i asked rhetorically knowing finn wouldn't have an answer.

as we walked further in, a few grunts we heard from the dropship and out came murphy being carried by kane. rage and fire filled my eyes as i watched the boy who hung me, shot raven, killed charlotte, killed two other guys and betrayed all of us gain help undeservingly. no way in hell should that piece of shit get away with any of that now that he has the ark down here to save him. i was going to end him.
