ryder

we had barely made it through the woods 10 minutes and Clarke and Bellamy already wouldn't stop arguing. Bellamy tried continuously to get her to take her wristband off but to no avail. it was getting quite annoying actually. all his efforts to convince her of something that would never happen just wasted time for us to find one of my best friends.

i stood by and watched as Murphy held back Wells after trying to get the blake boy to put his gun away. bellamy really had john wrapped around his finger, obeying his every command.

"Brave princess." Bellamy told Clarke with a smirk.

out from behind us Finn walked up and stepped in between the two. Of course, one word of Clarke and anyone within a mile radius would shot their heads up.  i didn't understand it, what was the appeal?

"Hey, why don't you find your own nickname?" he said. "You call this a rescue party? you Gotta split up, cover more ground. Clarke, come with me." he suggested before pulling Clarke ahead.

i walked in the back of the group where i could see everyone. clarke and finn were only a few yards to our left while wells and bellamy chated. murphy slowed himself until we were now walking together, why he would want my company was the real question.

"so the princess won't take off her wristband, what are the chances of you taking it off willingly?"

"um.. i'd say slim to none." i answer. "yeah definitely none." before he could get a chance to even begin to try and persuade me, i walked away in the opposite direction of clarke and finn.

most of the walk afterwards had been silent for me. i looked around at the scenery hoping to get even a glimpse of jasper somewhere, anywhere. Bellamy however, wouldn't stop looking over at me. it wasn't a constant stare, more it was a glace here and there. i was getting a little annoying. finally he decided to join me in my path as murphy had once did.

"what?" my voice void of any emotions. if he was going to try and get this wristband off me too then he had another thing coming.

"nothing, i just um, i just wanted to say... sorry." i was taken aback. even though i barely knew him i didn't think i would ever hear these words come out of his mouth.

"sorry for what?" i asked now looking at him. he seemed sincere but i knew better than to buy into his solemn expression.

"your wound." he pointed to the gash on my side that had a white cloth around it and was blood soaked now.

"It's just a scratch." I turned away not wanting to bother with any of this right now. what's the point of listening to someone apologize when you know they don't mean it.

He shock his head at me not buying it. "when i gave Wells the knife i didn't think you would become crossfire."

"you still gave him the knife though, even after i told you to stop them. you just egged them on like all the rest of them." i said with a sour look. "you want to be king so bad well maybe think about the lives of all the delinquents and not just the ones who are so blindly following you."

"ryder, if i didn't give him the knife Murphy would have killed him." he tried to defend his actions but it wasn't good enough.

"and if you had just stopped them from the beginning, none if it would have happened. defuse a situation before it gets out of hand, haven't you ever heard of that?"

"ryder i'm trying to apologize here." he huffed.

"well i don't blame you for my side, i blame you for the knife fight, so if you really feel like apologizing to someone then go find Wells." i then picked up my pace and went in over to where Finn and Clarke where.
