Ryder

octavia, bellamy, jesse, nyko and i had been up most of the night, trading off shifts to keep watch over lincoln while the others slept. he hadn't seized since clarke and finn left to bring abby, which was great. if he had, none of use would have known what to do.

morning had arrived and octavia and bellamy were knelt beside lincoln while jesse , nyko and i stayed back so there wasn't a crowd. lincoln was unconscious still and chained this time to the ground so he wouldn't attack again.

"oh thank god." octavia exclaimed as finn entered our level of the dropship first, followed close by abby with her medical supplies. "where's clarke?" she asked and i notice it was only the two of them.

"trying to stop a war." finn explains as abby approached lincoln.

she was hesitant at first, but soon knelt beside him as well, peeling open on of his eyes. i peered over to she what she saw and noticed how blood shot they were. "pupils are unresponsive." abby explains as she starts working. "tie off his arm. tight as you can." octaiva did as she was told and used some cloth to create a tourniquet, frantically. "thanks to the supplies your brother found, he might have a chance."

i was confused at first, trying to think what she meant by finding supplies, then i remembered the guns. when i left, clarke had received word that there was a supply depot that they were going to search.

"what's that?" i ask, stepping away from the wall and joining them on the floor where abby was holding a syringe filled with an unidentified liquid.

"this will bring down his fever." abby tried sticking the needle in, but he woke and began fighting.

i took hold of his arms as octavia pushed down his chest and bellamy with his legs. he was strong and he put up a good fight, but three against one was just enough for abby to stick the needle in. lincoln began groaning in pain as his body quaked. his head bobbed up and down as we kept the rest of his body still, until he was unconscious again.

"what's happening? why isn't it working?" octavia panicked. abby placed her fingers on his throat, just beow his jaw, checking for a pulse.

"his heart stopped." abby answered calmly before beginning with chest compressions. nyko joined and followed abby's instructions to save his friend. "you're their healer, tilt his head back. pull his chi down to open his airway." and nyko did.

"come on." octavia pleaded in a whisper, slaying right by the grounder's side. bellamy and i had stepped back at this point, not being of any use to them. we exchanged a worried glance before watching intensely at the scene.

after only three sets of compressions, abby's hands stopped moving and i furrowed my brows at the griffin. "you're stopping. what's wrong?" octavia asked, eyes glassy.

"i'm sorry." abby lifted her hands off completely and placed them on her lap. "he's gone."

"no, it's not possible. you're wrong." octaiva protested, pushing abby out of the way so she could take over. she started with the chest compressions, just like abby had and we all looked to her pitiful. "come back." she sobbed as bellamy placed a hand on her back in comfort.

just then the dropship door opens and i prepare myself to grab my blade if need be. luckily, it was only clarke. two grounders entered, which i presumed was apart of clarke's 'war stopping' plan so i relaxed.

the two grounders seemed unimpressed, whereas octavia's cries grew louder. then a third grounder appeared from the hatch, surveying the scene. tension grew as we knew whatever plan clarke had, had now failed and the grounders would attack. slowly, i reached for my machete as i stepped in front of my sister, putting her out of harms way.
