"This is crap!"

"Language!"

"What? It is crap! I don't need a babysitter,"

Robin and I have been having this same argument all morning, and I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. I look to Skids for support, but all I get is a raised eyebrow.

"Don't look at me, love," He says, moving to lean against my kitchen counter. "She's an angel compared to you as a kid," He shrinks back instantly as Robin's scowl is focussed on him.

"I'm not a kid!"

I sigh and rub my face. Ever since I'd told the guys about the incident at the club, we were all on lockdown. At least one member was with us girls at all times, no exceptions. I'd been here with them before, but Robin was new to it and was insisting on rebelling. Yesterday was easy, seeing as she and Adam just hung out at home all day with Smiler and me. But, today is a school day and she has just realised that she's going to have an escort to and from school. "Look," I say calmly, trying to chill her out. "They'll take you to school, drop you off, and then pick you up later. It's not like they're going to be with you all day,"

She scoffs. "And it won't attract attention at all, me being taken to school on the back of a Bulldog's bike, with another one in tow?"

I'm struggling to keep this argument up because I can kind of see her point. She's still relatively new here, and she doesn't like attention. After seeing the students' reactions the other day when I was there with Jay, I know she'll be swamped as soon as she's spotted. "Okay, how about this? I'll take you on my bike, Smiler can ride with us, and then he'll wait just down the street while I drop you at the steps?"

She pauses and then rolls her eyes. "Then you'll be late for work,"

I shrug. "George won't mind, it's only a few minutes,"

Smiler has remained silent the whole time, keeping a safe distance from the teenage hormones that permeate the room, but he finally speaks up. "I'd take it, birdy. It's the best you're going to get. Otherwise, it's me and Skids. Shit, I might even get the others to come along just for the ride,"

She glares again, but Smiler just grins, completely unaffected. "Fine. But I'm going to Shelby's after school, so whoever's picking me up is paying," She stands quickly, shoving her chair back as she does, and I see Skids flinch as it narrowly misses crashing into his shins.

He looks at me and opens his mouth, but I put my hand up and point at him. "One word about me being worse as a teenager, and I'm wrapping that chair around your head!"

Smiler chuckles as Skids nods, choosing to remain silent and just grin at me instead.

I ended up being sent home at lunchtime. I'd been jumpy all day, flinching at every noise or movement. Apparently, it was bad for business to have people coming in for legal advice, only to see me being more paranoid than a drugs mule surrounded by sniffer dogs. According to George, anyway. So I found myself at Shelby's for the afternoon and had ended up eating my weight in chocolate cake, just to relieve the boredom. I groan and drop my head onto the counter, flinching again when a hand drops onto my shoulder.

Banjo chuckles and pulls a stool around to sit next to me. "What's wrong, Len?" He asks, leaning his head down to try and look at my face.

"I feel sick. And fat," I moan, rubbing a hand across my stomach.
