Fuck! That did not feel pleasant at all. My ears are ringing and my eyes sting from the dust that coats them. I shove rubble off my stomach and try to sit up, clenching my teeth as the pain hits my left shoulder. I hear Smiler calling my name, and try to call back. My voice croaks and I end up in a coughing fit. By the time he reaches me, I've managed to sit up and prop myself against the wall, my left arm hanging limply by my side. My fingers are tingling and I know I've dislocated it.
"Lenni?" He calls, crouching down in front of me.
I grab his hand with my good one and nod. "I'm okay," I croak. He stands for a minute and then passes me a bottle of water. I reach for it and swallow several mouthfuls, pouring the rest over my face to try and get the dust off my eyes. "Is everyone else okay?" I ask, my voice sounding more normal now.
He nods and kisses my forehead. "We're all fine. I think that Adam kid is pretty shaken up. I don't know what shocked him more; the truck, or you sending him flying across the room," He grins at me and I can't help but chuckle.
I reach my good hand out to him. "Help me up," I say, rolling my eyes when he pauses. "I'm fine honestly," I tell him. He pulls me up gently but doesn't let go. I look up and see the others all watching me. "I'm fine, guys! Skids, I need you to do my shoulder," Smiler turns and looks at me wide-eyed. "I used to race motocross. A dislocated shoulder was practically a weekly occurrence for me," I tell him. Seriously, these guys are so not as badass as they like to think they are.
Skids approaches me and before I can even speak, he's grabbed my arm and yanked it back into place. "All done," he grins at me, moving quickly before I can punch him.
"Motherfu- that hurt!" I change my words as I realise Adam is staring at me, his face as white as a sheet. "You alright?" I ask him, looking him over.
"I think I bruised my ass when I landed, but you saved my life!"
I look to Jay who has finally joined us, with bloodied and swollen knuckles. "Club stuff?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. He nods and I groan. "Let me guess, the same stuff that got Banjo?" I still refuse to ask anything about club business, even after all these months, and I purposely ignore the guys every time they talk about it. But this time, it's pretty obvious it's an MC thing, and I'm starting to wonder how bad things are going to get. He nods again and I shake my head, looking back to Adam. "You saw absolutely nothing here, okay?" The last thing we all need is for this to be spread around the school to all his friends.
He realises I'm serious as all the guys stare him down, and I almost feel sorry for the kid. He nods slowly and swallows hard. "Didn't see a thing," he says.
I look back to the guys. "I need to find the sheriff and get him looking for Robin. You guys good to deal with this?"
Jay nods. "Of course. Go, we'll catch you up. She'll be fine, Len. She's probably close by, just getting some headspace,"
"Actually, um," Adam clears his throat and rubs the back of his neck. "I might have an idea of how we can find her," He continues when he realises we're all staring at him, waiting. "Liam, you met him earlier, he's a really good hacker. He might be able to hack into her phone and trace her location,"
I nod once, kissing Smiler quickly and grabbing Adam's sleeve, dragging him behind me. "Let's go then," I say, leading him to my car.
"Are you okay to drive?" He asks, shutting up quickly when I glare at him.
"Tell Liam to meet us at my house," He nods and pulls his phone out, remaining silent for the rest of the drive.
