Chapter 5: Awakening

Duncan's P.O.V:

Talon was really getting on my nerves. He kept growling at me, and I growled back. No one was going to growl at me in my own house without me growling back. Talon led me to a sleeping bag, near a heater, where I could place Hallie so she could warm up and wake up. How ironic. The one person who would know what to do with commas, is in a coma. I lay her down and turn the heater up. She shivers a bit more and groans. I pat her head and turn away, when "D-D-D-D-D-D." I turn back around to see Hallie sitting a bit up. Is she? Trying to say my name? "Du-Du-Dunc-Duncan?" I look at her and call to the others. "Hallie's awake!" The rest of them rush over, along with Talon. She catches sight of Talon and wraps the blanket around her a little tighter. She turns and makes eye contact with me. Before I can do anything, Toni and Tracy surround her and hug her. They covered her up so much, I though she disappeared for a second! They step away from her to give her some space to breathe and talk.

"T-T-T-T Toni? T-T-T-Tracy? W-W-W-W-What H-Hap-Happen-Happened?" Tracy gives a super speedy quick explanation to catch Hallie up. Parker goes to greet Hallie, when Talon speeds in front of her and kneels in front of Hallie. "I'm only gonna ask this once: Are you a doctor of some sort?" Hallie, surprised by the intense stare, doesn't say anything. "Well?" Hallie snaps out of whatever she was in and answers, or at least tries. "I-I-I W-W-Was St-Studying to be-become on-" Talon cuts her off with a loud bam. Talon glares at Hallie and stands up. "Talon that was very rude!" Parker yells after him. He scoffs and talks to his buddies. "Sorry Hallie." I sit next to her and hold her, since she started shivering again after her encounter with Talon. Poor Hallie. She didn't even do anything.

"I-I'm T-T-Ti-Tired. I-Is there som-somwhere w-we can sl-slee-sleep?" I nod and pick her back up. Parker leads me to a spare room, with lots of sleeping bags and a king size bed. I set Hallie in the bed and start to lay down in a sleeping bed when Hallie starts whimpering again. I get back up and rub her head, when she grabs my hand and cuddles up to me. I put my arms around her and pulled her closer. I hope you sleep well Hallie.
