Gonna try to post this in at least 700 words, not including these ones.
Duncan's P.O.V:
I woke up to a timer dinging and the door to my pod opens. My eyes, almost glued to my face, slowly open. I see the interior of the metal room. I pull myself off the back of the pod and slowly start to move my legs, that are still numb. I finally shake off the sleepiness on my body and move over to the first pod next to me. I really hope that it worked properly for the rest of my friends. I push the passcode in and the door popped, and slowly opened. I step in, slightly cold, since she's technically still asleep. I felt for Tracy's heartbeat. A steady heartbeat is felt under my finger. "Tracy. Tracy, wake up." She groaned and slowly opened her eyes. "Duncan? Why did you wake me up?" She rubbed her eyes and stretched her arms. "We have to wake the others up." She slowly stepped out and stumbled to the next pod. I walk to the other side and open that pod: Abby's pod. I type the passcode again and pulled her out of sleep.
I hope the others will be okay. I opened the pod door and shook Abby. She didn't respond. I put my hand on her neck and waited for a pulse. A light bump against my fingers told me she was alive. I shook her again. "Abby?"
Tracy suddenly yelled out. "Toni! Toni! Breathe! Please! Wake up! Please wake up Toni!" Tracy's yelling awoke Abby with a start. I rushed over to Toni. I felt for a pulse. Nothing. I tried CPR. He started to breathe, but very little. Tracy rushed over to Hallie's pod, and in her panic, pressed the wrong numbers and locked out the keypad. "Shit! How are we supposed to open the door now? Hallie could be dead right now! Or she could be dying, and because of me, we can't get to her!" Tracy was losing her mind and Abby was trying to help calm her down. Abby kept saying that everything was going to be fine, but the look in her eyes told me otherwise. I waited quietly for the keypad to unlock and placed the passcode in carefully.
The pod opened with a deafening noise as the air pressure changed. The minute the door opened, we were all quiet. I stepped in carefully, as to not get an early accusation. I started to shake Hallie when the pod made a strange noise, almost like it was going to close. When it stopped making noises, I shook Hallie, in hopes that she would respond very quickly. She didn't respond to being shook. Tracy started to sob, but I wasn't losing a friend if I could help it. I put my head to her chest to listen for a pulse. Nothing. I put my hand to her neck, to try to search for a pulse.
We wait in silence, except for Tracy's quiet sobbing. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. A small, light bump against my finger relaxes me. I listen again to her chest. It's quiet, but there. I shake Hallie once more. "Hallie. Come on. It's time to get up." She doesn't respond. "Hallie?" Abby calls out. She groans, but doesn't open her eyes. "Tracy? I think she might be in a coma." "Should we still take her? She might be safer here." Abby asks. "No one left behind." Tracy spits out. Toni, still trying to not die, stands up and walks slowly over to Tracy. He puts his arm around her, to stay standing. Tracy looks up and hugs him. "Don't ever scare me like that." Toni nods his head and hugs Tracy tighter. 5 years later, and we all made it out of the cryogenic pods.
"I thought I heard voices." A familiar voice comes from the other side of the metal door. We look over and hide behind Hallie's pod, closing Hallie's pod door. A loud bang is heard, and footsteps on the metal floor are heard. The footsteps stop in front of Hallie's pod, the one we were all hiding behind. At that moment, I regret leaving her out there. "Huh. The pod is not on, but she's still asleep. She must be dead. I wonder where the others are. They must have left her since she's dead. I guess i'll have to dispose of the body." I look around the side of the pod and see a very familiar face. The female turns toward me and stares.
"Duncan?" "Parker?"
I hope y'all enjoyed the chapter. I met my goal of 773 words, not including these words or the ones before the chapter. This one is very long, I think? I don't know. I never can tell. Alright see y'all in the next episode.
