SZINSZINSZINSZIN
I LOVE THE END OF THIS ANIMATIC
this update is pretty trashy btw
________________________________"We have to tell him! We cant just keep this from him!" I heard a voice say.
"No. We cant, we just cant..."
The arguing went on for sometime before I finally opened my eyes.
"Tell me what?" I heard a raspy and faint voice say. Was that really my voice?
The two bickering voices stopped suddenly. My vision focused on the four figures standing next to my bed.
Laf, Martha, George, and my doctor.
"Ah, Alexander! You're awake," the doctor said, pleased. "How are you?"
I felt like absolute garbage. (same alex) My head was still foggy from the sedatives and it felt like the room was tilted slightly. I felt absolutely sick.
Ignoring his question, I repeated what I had just said.
"Tell me what?" I strained to say. My throat was dry and scratchy which made it uncomfortable to talk.
I saw Martha and George exchange glances while Laf came closer to me.
"Nothing important," he said as the doctor began to check my vitals. I didnt feel like talking anymore so I raised my eyebrows in a way to tell him that I didnt believe him.
As my brother kept talking to me, I noticed Martha and George talking softly in the corner of the room. They looked like they were arguing. I wasnt sure why George ever bother to fight anymore. Martha always won.
"George, no. I am sick of this. I cant keep this from him!" Martha said in her stern voice that signalled the end of the argument. She had won. She walked towards the hospital bed, George at her heels looking panicked.
"Martha, please no." he said, grabbing her wrist but she yanked it back.
She came over to me and Laf and kneeled down next to my bed. I glanced over at my brother for an explanation but I was returned with silence. His eyes betrayed a look of excitement and worry.
(this is gonna sound rlly cliche guys get ready)
"Alex," Martha said as she grabbed my hand. Her touch was soft and warm yet cautious. "We...have something to tell you,"
She glanced at Laf and George again before looking at me.
"Do you remember when you fell out of that tree before we moved?" George asked softly. They all looked nervous as I nodded my head slowly.
What could be so important that they were telling me now?
"Well, you werent in great shape after you fell. You almost died," Laf whispered and kneeled down and rested his head on the bed. (hehehe it rhymes)
"What does this have to do with anything?" I strained to say in my scratchy and soft voice.
"When we went to the hospital, in order to save your life, we had to uh..." Martha said but trailed off at the end, seeming to have nothing else to say.
"We had to have surgery on you to replace some of your body parts with metal and wires," George finished her sentence. The whole room went dead silent, everyone was waiting for my reaction.
"W-What?" I stumbled on the words, trying to comprehend what George had just said.
I felt my breath catch as something in my head clicked. The reason why we had to move. The silver stuff I saw in my leg earlier.
I felt shock fill my body. How? How had this happened? I hadnt even noticed.
"B-But h-how?" I stuttered some more. "I-its just my leg right?" Laf shook his head.
"No its pretty much your whole body except for your head and a few other parts," he explained.
I couldnt keep my head straight. A million thoughts were going through my head all at once.
"S-So, Im not human?" I asked. I saw Martha hesitate before answering.
"No...its just...I-i dont know. All i know is that you arent a machine." (yeah i dont know how to explain stuff)
Suddenly, a nurse walked in the room.
"I'm sorry but visiting time are over. You came again tomorrow. Alexander needs his rest," she said politely and guided Martha, Laf, and Goerge out of the room.
Soon the doctor left and I was left alone with my thoughts.
There were so many questions swirling in my head all at once.
When did this happen?
How did they do it?
Why did they do it?
I felt betrayed. Laf knew and he never told me. If he knew, how many other people knew that I practically wasnt human?
Suddenly another realization came to me. I remembered to moment that I had first seen Laf after the incident. He looked like he had seen the walking dead, which I guess at the time he was.
I should have been dead. But I wasnt. By the miracle of technology, I was alive. I had cheated death.
Now I felt something different. As if there was something crawling underneath my skin, all over my body. (im squirming right now just writing this)
I felt disgusting. Wrong.
I squirmed a little to try and get rid of the feeling but it only became worse.
