Chapter 18 | "It's My Fault!"

- Rydel's POV -

Abby's still in her coma. It's horrible to see her like this. And to think it's partly my fault.

I was the one who told Riker that Rocky kissed her.

I've stitched my best friend up. I've betrayed her trust.

I just hope she understands why I did it. To protect my brother. But then I could've protected her by not telling Riker in the first place.

Oh, I'm a confused mess!

I bring my knees up to my chest. I lay my head in the dip of my knees.

I sob.

Why?

Why did this have to happen to my best friend?

To her of all people.

Mum told her parents yesterday through a phone call. When she came off of the phone she said they didn't seem too happy.

I understand why.

"Hey." Someone says sitting next to me.

I look up.

Rocky.

"Hey there bro!"

"Everything will be fi-"

"NO! NO IT WONT! EVERYONE SAYS THAT!" I sigh, "ITS MY FAULT SHE'S IN HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" I shout, realising everyone is staring at me.

Ratliff comes up to me and gives me a hug.

I break down into tears.

I fall to the ground.

We have a show tomorrow. I'm going to have to put a brave face on. For my best friend.

I'd do anything for her.
