Chapter 17 | Information

- Riker's POV -

An hour.

It's been an hour since Abby had gotten run over and we haven't heard anything from the nurse or even a doctor.

I was sitting in an uncomfortable, small hospital chair; looking down at the ground, with tears making their way down my face.

I keep saying to myself, "Everything will be fine."

But what if it's not.

I sigh.

"She's going to be okay, I promise." Ross says patting my back.

"That's what everyone says when they're waiting to hear about someone. The outcome still isn't that good." I reply.

"Hey, Riker, listen to your brother," Mum starts, "She will be okay. We just need to have a little faith and hope."

"I guess." I reply while nodding my head.

"The doctors coming!" Rydel says while pointing at a doctor coming towards us.

"Will she be okay?" I ask frantically.

"Abigail will be fine," We all take a sigh of relief, "However, she'll be in the hospital for a few days, she's in a coma at the moment. Thankfully, she didn't lose too much blood; which is a good thing." The doctor starts flipping through his notes on his clipboard, "Um, a few broken ribs and a broken leg. She's actually very lucky. Most patients are paralysed after being run over or hit by a car."

"Do you know when she'll be out of the coma?" Rocky asks.

"A few hours or maybe in a day. You can go in and see her if you want."

"Yes please." I say as he lets me through to see Abby.

I walk in the room and see Abby lying on the hospital bed. Helplessly. She looks so... Dead.

Snap out of it Riker! You can't say that! The doctor said she will be fine.

I walk up to her and kneel by her side. I take her and press my lips on her soft skin.

"I'm sorry." I say, while more tears begin to fall.
