Chapter 21 | What? How? Why?

- Riker's POV -

She can't remember me?

How?

We've had some great times together, right?

Well, apart from us arguing nearly all the time but I honestly do love her.

"STRANGER!" I keep repeating in my head.

I'm not a stranger. I'm Riker. Your boyfriend. And I love you.

But she'll never know or hear that now will she because she can't remember a thing. So much for temporary memory loss more like permanent memory loss to me!

Why am I beating myself up over this? I just need to wait.

"But how long can you wait?" A voice in my head says.

I shrug my shoulders.

I walk up to Mum, "Hey. I'm gonna head back to the bus to have a little nap, I need it."

"Sure sweetie! You look incredibly exhausted." We exchange hugs.

"Love you Mum."

"Love you too." She replies, "We'll get through this, I promise. And we'll get through it together."

"Thanks." I say while a tear rolls down my cheek.

- Rydel's POV -

Poor Riker. I feel so bad for him. Abby can't remember him, or any of us as a matter of fact.

I sigh.

Why can't life be simple?

How can life be so complex?

What do I have to do to make it a easy ride? Probably nothing. Life is complex whether we like it or not.

I hope that in a couple of days she'll remember all of us. I really do.

Please Abby. Not just for me but for everyone else who loves you. Please remember us.
