(Pic is Chester)

Sunday I got out of bed, ruffled Chester's head, and got in the shower. I dried off and put on jean shorts since it was early spring and the weather was warm. I pulled on a Society Amuse shirt and walked out.

"Chester, we are going to see what we can do together, now that we have the bond. But first, breakfast."

At that he lifted his head up. He didn't say anything, but followed me down to the kitchen. I got out a pan from above the island and set it on the stove. Then I mixed up pancake batter. Once the pan was warm enough I poured the batter and voila, we had a stack of pancakes.

I gave Chester a plate, and myself. I put my syrup on the side and dipped the pancakes in, while Chester gobbled his. I was humming the tune of Somethig's Gotta Give while loading our dishes in the dishwasher.

You make some mean pancakes.

"Thanks ready to go see what we can do?"

Let's go.

We went out into the yard just before the forest met my yard. I sat down and thought about the characteristics of a hell houn. They could shift into an earth dog, controll their inner fire, and form a shield against attacks.

Angels and demons. Angels could control all elements, had wings, and some could see when one was lying, or see the purity of one's soul. Demons could shape shift if they had claimed and killed the subject. I didn't have to because of the angel in me. They could also control one element, depending on who they were. It took practice and concentration to control it though, so most didn't bother.

"How about, you try to bring up a lump of dirt?" I suggested.

Okay, but I'll feel stupid doing it.

I could see him concentrating, trying to feel for the element, but he eventually shook his head. I tried to put up his sheild, trying to pull it from the energy of the world around me. It didn't work. This went on for about two hours.

"I'm hungry. Let's take a brake," I said. He nodded in agreement. We were both sweaty and exausted from concentrating so hard.

I got a glass of water and some penutbutter crackers. Chester got leftovers from breakfast. I put on some tunes on the speakers in my house.

Getting bored, I started playing with my water. First shaping it into a shpere, then slowly shaping it into whatever as I let my mind wander. When I snapped out of my daze, I realized that I had created a mini version of Chester.

He had been watching the whole time not saying anything. I finished it by solidifing it into glass. Don't ask how I just did. Walking over to the trashcan, I threw my wrapper into it and looked at Chester.

That was cool. It's beautiful. But that's because it's me.

"Of course it is Chester, of course. Do you want to go back out?"

No. I want to try. Get me a glass of water please.

I filled a glass and set it in front of him. I watched him concentrate, deciding to give him some mental pushing. I could see the water ripple. With suprise, I kept it up. He was able to lift the water out and started shaping it. I could see it taking form, a humanoid figure with devil horns and angel wings.

When he was finished he looked at me, proud of his creation. I hardened it and grabbed it before it dropped.

"Chester, it is beautiful. I don't have any words," I said.

It was all thanks to you. You gave me access to a part of you. That is the key. Teemwork.

"Want to go put these up and watch a movie?"
