Okay, yeah, onto the first one shot!

Tw- suicidal thoughts, slight biphobia mentions

Evan sat underneath the tree branches that gave him shade on this hot fall day. He was bundled up in a cute blue sweater that thankfully hid his soulmate tattoo. Everyone on their seventeenth birthday got one, and yesterday he received his.

His mom, Heidi, celebrated that he got a soulmate tattoo, but the name made Evan want to cry. In his soulmate's jagged handwriting, the name Connor Murphy would be forever ingrained on his skin.

But Evan didn't care what fate and destiny had to say about soulmates. Connor was the most popular boy in school, and Evan, a loner nerd with social anxiety, didn't dare approach him. He knew that Connor's birthday was today, and he really just wanted to leave. But it was last period on a Friday, his study period, where he could just disappear.

Then, he saw him. Connor Murphy was on the other side of the field, talking to his younger sister, Zoe. They were talking about something urgently, then Evan's stomach dropped.

They were talking about him.

Then, Zoe pointed in his direction, and Connor turned to look at they shy boy underneath the tree. Evan bit his lip, and stood up as Connor walked towards him. Evan covered his soulmate tattoo with his sweater, and turned away to run and hide somewhere.

Tears filled his eyes as Evan ran. Connor was going to beat him up. Because, that's what the popular kids did to him. They called him names because he liked boys and girls. They teased him for his appearance. And while Connor never participated, he stood by and did nothing.

Evan ran, wiping the tears from his eyes. And he ran straight into the nearest boys' bathroom. He locked himself in a stall, and sunk to the ground, burying his face in his knees.

And he begun to sob. Connor was going to kill him for having Evan's name appear on Connor's wrist. For turning Connor into some freak.

Maybe I should just kill myself before he finds me and makes my life even more of a hell than it already is, Evan thought.

Then, the door opened. Evan saw Connor's beat up combat boots.

"Evan?" Connor's voice called out.
Evan immediately stoped crying so Connor wouldn't find him.

"Evan? Are you in here?" There was a pause. Evan let out a sniffle.

"Evan, I know you're in here. Please, I just want to talk."

"No," Evan whispered. "You want to beat me up, because I'm a boy, and you're a boy, and it must be a mistake, and you hate me, And," Evan paused, a few tears slipping down his cheeks.

"Evan, I promise, I just want to talk. About this soulmate stuff. Please, unlock the door." There was a hint of worry in his voice.

Evan took in a deep breath, then stood up. He cautiously unlocked the door.

"Promise you won't hurt me?" Evan asked before opening the door.
"I promise," Connor said.
The Evan opened the door. Connor looked nervous, he was chewing on his lip.

Evan had never been this close to Connor. Well, he had, when Connor was standing near him, while his friends were beating Evan up. But Connor looked so, dare he say, beautiful, up close.

Connor's eyes sparkled brightly, with slight caution for the younger boy. His lips looked so pretty, and his hair framed his face beautifully.

Then there was Evan. In that moment, Connor though that the boy was the most beautiful human in the world. Evan's hair was a shiny, golden blond, that made his skin radiate. His crystal blue eyes shined with tears, and his lips. Oh god, Connor wanted nothing more in that moment to seize Evan's lips with his own, and hold Evan as close as possible, never letting go until he was sure that the boy was okay.

Evan shrunk into himself against the wall.
"So, we're soulmates," Connor said.

"Yeah," Evan whispered. "I'm sorry you got stuck with me."

"Stuck with you?" Connor questioned, looking Evan in the eyes more intently.

"Yeah. I-I'm annoying and have anxiety, and I'm ugly, and depressed, and. . ." Evan was cut off by Connor.

"No you're not. You're beautiful, and stunning, and amazing, and I'm so fucking happy that you're my soulmate," Connor said. Then his face fell. He didn't mean to say the last part.

"Um," Evan looked down at his feet.
"I'm sorry," Connor whispered. "I shouldn't have said that. I'll go. . ." he whispered, trailing off, then he turned to leave.

"Wait," Evan said, his voice quite, and breaking a little bit. Connor turned to look at the boy. Evan took a step closer to Connor, and now, their faces were mere inches away.

"Can I kiss you?" Evan asked, quietly.
Connor paused for a moment, frozen.
"I-I'm I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked. . . I, uh," Evan stopped talking.

Connor cupped Evan's cheeks in his hands, and kissed him.

Sparks flew, and the boys' soulmate tattoos tingled.

Everything felt so right, everything felt so perfect.

They pulled away a minute later, needing air.

Connor smirked, and said, "So I guess we're soulmates."

"Yeah," Evan whispered.

"I'm glad we're soulmates," Connor said. "I've liked you for a while. And because of the whole soulmate thing, it never occurred to me to ask you out." His voice dropped, "I wished every day since my fourteenth birthday that you would be my soulmate."

Evan blushed. "Why?"

"Because you're the kindest, nicest, hottest person I've ever met. And it killed me seeing you get beaten up by those jerks. But I couldn't do anything about it, or they would have made it worse." Evan saw remorse in the other boy's eyes.

"Hey Connor," Evan whispered.
"Hm?"
"Shut up and kiss me," Evan said, before connecting their lips once more.
