CHAPTER TWO

"AMELIA!"

"What?" My eyes shot open and I sat up straight, nearly falling off my bed.

"I've got a new mission for you. Gear up." The door was half open, Ash's head was poking out.

I looked at the digital watch on my bedside table, "It's 3 in the morning. Can't we wait till tomorrow?"

"No. We need to get there before everybody else does."

"Everybody else?" I raised an eyebrow. "How many people are stealing this thing?"

"Hundreds." He turned around and went off to do whatever he's doing. "But if we get there earlier we should be good."

I shut my bedroom door and changed into my black suit. Over it, I wore an orange sweater. So it looked like I was wearing leggings. I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed some water.

"Where's the object?" I asked as I poured some water into a cup.

"Paris."

"Fancy." I sighed, no word nor action could explain how tired I am. I've been to Paris three times and successfully stolen three objects. Except for one though, this object no one couldn't steal, not even me, which was the richest man in Paris, Aymeric Lorrence's famous gift for his wife, the Crown Of Gems. Literally, it's made out of a bunch of gems, diamonds, ruby, sapphire, tourmaline, zircon, crystal quartz you name it. And it is impossible, and seriously, impossible to steal it. "What are we stealing exactly?" I took a sip of my drink.

"The Crown Of Gems."

I did a spit-take. And as I did that, I dropped my glass, spilling the water on the floor. I was so surprised the water made me slip.

Ash didn't lift his eyes from his computer. "You're cleaning that up."

I stood back up, but slipped again. "Are you serious? Do you know how many people have tried to steal that and end up being either dead or in prison?"

"The Lorrences are having their annual ball in less than a week, and he's going to display the crown in his mansion. The mansion is as big as a palace, I would have to look for the crown first. Lucky for us though, if we get there earlier we might get a chance to steal it before the ball." Ash explained.

"What makes you think other people won't come earlier?" Everytime I have a question, Ash would always have a good answer. If it's bad, then it's really bad.

"Unless other people knew about the ball, then yes we're screwed." Even though Ash was sitting in his office, I could feel the smirk plastered across his face. "But nobody knows about it except for us. How do I know? I'm an amazing hacker."

I stood back up, carefully. "So this client wants us to steal the Crown Of Gems? How much will he-"

"Seven million."

I froze and slipped again, my eyes felt like it was about to bulge out. "Holy shit. We're going... To be rich."

"I know right!" I heard Ash push in his chair and switch off his computer. "I've booked us a flight, it's in one hour. Grab your backpack I've packed everything you need-why are you on the floor?"

"I still can't believe it."

"Well," he swung his own backpack over his shoulder, "Believe it. Now grab your bag and let's go or we're going to miss our flight!"
