CHAPTER EIGHT

~*~

"So uh, how are we going to get there?" I asked as we sat on a bench. I had given up after minutes of searching.

"Why are you asking me?"

I nudged him on the shoulder "You're the one that's been here!"

"But I thought you're the one that comes up with ideas!"

"Forget it I'm gonna ask someone instead of wasting time." I stood up and tapped on an old lady's shoulder. "Excuse me, do you know how to get to the Moon Market?"

"Nani?"

"Okay, nevermind. Have a nice day!" I sat back down and sighed.

"Sweetheart," Jae pat my shoulder, "you need to remember we're in Japan and not-"

"Okay then, you try."

"With pleasure," He then approached another lady, and then spoke gibberish, "Dō ka watashi wa tsuki no ichiba ni ikagadesu ka?"

The lady laughed, "Anata wa sore ni tatte iru!"

He nodded and smiled, "Arigato," and plopped his ass on the bench. "Well sweetheart, it appears we are in the Moon Market."

"Wait what?" Now that I realise it, I took in my surroundings. The smell of antiques filled the area. Food, clothes, souvenir stalls stood at every corner and side. Until then, I finally noticed the huge banner than hung above us, reading something in Japanese. "So you're saying, you knew we were here?"

"Yep," He smirked, "While you were busy looking through the map, I led you to the Market."

"So you're saying you did that for fun?"

"It was entertaining!"

"Idiot!" I hit my head multiple times, "Don't you understand we don't have time for such things?"

"Alright fine," he said, "Where's the safehouse?"

"Alexis said it'll be obvious," I scanned the area.

"And what the hell does that mean-" Jae raised an eyebrow, "That has to be it." He pointed at a two-storey house just beside the Moon Market, that looked like an abandoned building. The paint was coming off and the stairs were just full of garbage!

"That is hideous."

"Like you're face."

"Idiot," I laughed, "I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and poop out a better insult than that."

"I was kidding. You're gorgeous." He frowned, "Where have I heard that before?"

"While you take a trip back to memory lane, I'll be making my way to the safehouse."

"Oh! I remember," He laughed, "Eric said that to me when I called him a retarded piece of noodle."

"And not a single shit was given."

*•.

"Are you sure we didn't just break in to a rich man's home?" He asked.

"You tell me."

The safehouse was huge. It didn't look as disgusting as it was on the outside. In fact, it was all fancy and modern. There were three floors all together, one underground and one on top. There weren't that many windows except for maybe in the living room. When you first walk in, to the right was the living room, then there was a hallway leading to the kitchen and dining area. Just beside it was a spiral staircase leading upstairs. The stairs leading underground were on the right near the entrance. It led down to a door with a keypad right next to it.
