[Running Low]
Chapter ten;

"What Uh happened with Daniel?" Shawn asks with a slight stutter.
"Uh..." I say not wanting to reveal my past, I look at my brother and he nods his head for me to spill. I sense movement and I whip my head around to see Shawn sitting in one of the chairs in the room.
"Daniel is our biological dad but he and Uh our mom divorced due to past incidents," I explain as my hands begin to shake. I make eye contact with Shawn and it's like he knows what I am going to say.
"Let's just say I went through a lot when I was younger. Trying to figure out who I was and what I was going to do in the future. And let's also say that my Uh dad didn't really appreciate that," I say about to choke.

[4 years ago]

I unlock the main bathroom, peeking my head out of the door to see it anyone was around. Once the coast was clear and I began walking to my room with the towel in one hand covering the other. I speed walked to my room as fast as possible, once in I close it quietly and sit in my desk chair. I apply pressure and peel it off to reveal the fresh blood. I grab my gaze and medical cream and begin to wrap my wrist. I hear my door open making me gasp and tears begin to form.
"Jayde!" I hear and turn around to find my brother with pity written in his words and eyes.
"What have I told you?! Please come to me instead of doing- that!" He says slightly stern, just being the older brother he is. He rushes to my side wiping the new tears and helping wrap my wrist.

"Jadye, dinner!" I hear my dad call a couple hours later. Cameron as left me to go hangout with his friends and mom is working later. So it's my father and I.
"Okay!" I shout back pulling a hoodie on myself and exiting my room. I skip down the steps and into my kitchen to see my dad has bought some pizza. I go and grab a couple slices and sit down at the table.
"Jayde?" I hear my dad.
"Yeah," I acknowledge but with no eye contact.
"Look at me," He says sternly. The fear of seeing him begins to make my blood pump, making my leg begin to bounce up and down.
"Good. Now tell me truthfully, have you done it today?" He asks sternly yet caring. But what you don't know is he isn't caring at all.
"N-"
"Bullshit!" He says slamming his fist on the table.

[present]

"So He was um stern?" Shawn asks slightly confused of how Cameron could have possible ended up in the hospital.
"Uh yeah but he Uh—" o couldn't spit out the words as Cameron jumps in.
"He would beat Jayde," Cameron says softly.
"He- he touched you?" I hear a hint of anger in his words.
"Yes but-"
"Don't, please don't say cause he loved you," the sadness and hurt in Shawns words now show.
"I wasn't going to say that, I was going to say I don't know why he did it." Silence grew in the plain, white boring room.

A while after, Cameron has fallen asleep and so has Shawn. I pick at my already recked nail polish as I hear a bit of stirring across from me. I see a head pop up and realize it's Shawn and that he has woken up. He runs his hand through his hair and looks right at me. I see him stand up and walk over to me kneeling down in front of me. His hand slightly rested on my thigh as her began to whisper.
"Have you been up all this time?" He questions. I simply nod. He sighs a bit.
"Do you want to go to your dorm?" He asks me. I shake my head no. He stands up and reaches for my hand. I take it with no hesitation. He brings my over to the recliner he was currently sitting in and sits down montioning for me to sit down on him. I do as was told and lay on side resting on him. I hear his steady heart beat and then see black.
