Grace's POV
I wake up the next day really early. I barely got any sleep last night and I'm sweating like crazy. I kept having horrible nightmares. Nightmares that I can't even begin to explain.
I walk downstairs and decide to make myself toast. I eat it in silence and decide to make some extra for Emily and bring it up to her. She's still asleep. I lay the toast on a napkin by my bedside table. I quietly walk downstairs and find that my dad and Thomas are sitting at the table having a conversation.
"You wanted to talk to me right?" I ask my dad.
"oh yes. I wanted to inform you that I'll be driving back to LA tonight. I've told Thomas everything that you need to know and the rest I've taken care of," he replies.
"ok"
"I assume you'll be gone all day, so I wanted to say goodbye now. Text me if you need anything ok?"
"I will," I reply as he walks over and hugs me.
"I'll be over next weekend to check on you. Be careful," he says.
I smile and run upstairs to see if Emily is awake.
"Hey," she says as I walk in.
"Yay. You're awake," I reply.
She smiles. "you were moving around a lot last night and you were like crying. Is everything ok?"
"Oh yeah," I reply. "Just some stupid nightmares. Nothing serious."
But that was a lie. Those nightmares I had really scared me. I'm so nervous they're going to actually happen.
"Ok," she replies. "If you ever want to talk about them I'll always be here."
"Thanks Emily"
"Anytime," she smiles. "Ok I barely got any sleep last night so I'm gonna try to fall asleep again. Is that ok?"
"Oh yeah sure," I reply. "Enjoy your sleep. I'll just go for a walk or something."
She smiles and lays back down. I quietly walk over to my closet. I'm still amazed that my dad managed to get all of this. He has a good job but this is a lot to manage. I have to make sure he knows how grateful I am.
I decide to wear shorts and a tank top again since it's been really hot lately. I slip on white vans and put my hair in a bun.
I open the blinds so I have some sunlight in my room. The weather looks nice so I decide to go for a walk. I unplug my phone and grab some money just in case I decide I want food.
I run into Thomas as I'm heading down the stairs.
"I'm going for a walk I'll be back later," I tell him.
"What about Emily?"
"She's asleep"
"Ok. Well I'll talk to you later"
"Ok bye"
"Bye"
I walk out the door and on the sidewalk. I take in my surroundings as I walk. It's really pretty here. I'm still shocked that all that's happened over the past couple days is real and that I'm living here. I feel free and relaxed. I'm not that worried anymore.
I think I'm actually happy.
My thoughts are interrupted when I run into someone yet again.
Why do I always run into people?
"Oh hey Grace," I hear.
"Hey Keaton," I reply. "I'm sorry. For some reason I have a tendency to run into people"
