My heart rate sped up as two Sergeants walked up and down the barracks, my mind coming up with all sorts of strenuous things they were going to make us do. As they walked, they checked our beds, our uniforms, our lockers, everything. When they got to the end, they both stopped and turned to face us. "You should all know this by now, but I'm sergeant first class Dall, and this staff sergeant davis." Said the taller one, a male with dark buzzed hair and a very intimidating stance. The shorter one stepped forward and started pacing again, and when she addressed us, i realized that she was in fact a female. "We are going to be your sergeants while you're here at basic." She began. "If you need anything, you will report to your squad leader, and they will report to us."
As she walked she wiped her finger along one of the lockers, and to our surprise, picked up some dust. "But as your sergeants, we want our platoon to be the best. The best at pt, the best at timing, and the, cleanest and most organized." Sge said as sge opened the locker she was standing at. She opened the top drawer, and started pulling some items out. "Whose locker is this?" She asked, looking at the contents of the drawer. "Mine drill sergeant!" Said a younger female standing to the right of the locker. "Private whats your name?" She asked, now standing in front of her. "Drill sergeant i am private Straung!" Said the now very intimidated girl. "Well," began sergeant davis. "Thanks to the filthy state of private Straungs locker, i want you all to scrub the barracks spotless before 1300. When i come back there better not be a spec a dirt in sight." We all thought that was it, and you could feel everyone relax a little bit, but before sergeant Davis and sergeant Dall left, they pulled put and dumped every drawer in every locker in the barracks.
As they left tge room, sergeant Dall turned around. "Platoon, attention!" He yelled out, and we all imediatly stiffened our bodys and stood at attention waiting for our next order. After a couple tense seconds of silent, sergeant Dall just looked at us and said "Fall out." And with that he left. Now being properly excused, everyone let out a sigh of relief, and i checked my watch to see what time it was.
It was 1130.
We only had an hour and a half to clean the barracks.
I looked over at Small and saw the same realization in her eyes. We were going to have to bust our asses.
