She stood in the middle of her new bedroom, staring at her beautiful self in the mirror. She looked at herself with a look of disproval on her face.

He, of course, was sadly watching the beautiful girl from across the window.

He hated seeing her sad. Hated it more than anything. Although he had never got the guts to talk to the shy girl, he longed to know her.

Some might say it was weird for a teenage boy to watch the girl next door, but he just couldn't help it.

For once, the blue-eyed girl looked over to already see the boy staring back at her. She sent him a small smile and walked downstairs to leave for school.

Her thinking nothing of it, left the house with her normal book in hand and headphones in her ears.

He, however, felt his whole world stop when her blue orbs met his. He was still in a daze when his mom came in and told him it was time to leave.

He rushed downstairs finally deciding he had to talk to the girl.

He met up with her right in front of his house, and instead of parting ways, he stayed right beside her.

The girl looked over at him and smiled once again, this time smaller and with less confidence.

He placed his hand outwards for her to shake. When she grabbed his, he felt as if their universe had collided.

"Daniel," he managed to breathe out.

"Carly," she replied, taking her ear buds out and marking her page.

"Well Carly, how are you today," the boy asked with genuine curiosity in his tone.

"Alright, just tired, what about you Daniel," the girl asked with the same tone as him.

"Just perfect," he smiled and continued walking with the girl.

Considering it was a new school year, the boy and girl walked together to get their schedules, earning odd looks from everyone.

She was the shy girl, the outcast. Although she's beautiful, she was made fun of.

He was the exact opposite. Although he was popular, he was humble and kind. He was also extremely confident.

"What classes do you got," Daniel asked the beautiful girl as they got the schedules.

As she explained her classes, he listened intently, comparing the two schedules. All classes with the beautiful girl next door would be amazing, he thought to himself as she smiled at the fact they had all classes together.

Maybe this year wouldn't be so bad for the sad girl. And maybe, just maybe, she had finally made a friend.

His year, however,  would be even better. He had finally befriended the girl he had watched cry everynight from his bedroom window for 4 years. And maybe, just maybe, he could save the girl from so much misery and heartbreak, that even he knew she didn't deserve.
