"Can I have your number," Daniel asked the girl walking home from school in a comfortable silence.

She smiled and halfway turned to the blue eyed boy who had a nervous look on his face. "Of course," she replied happily.

He let out a sigh of relief before handing his phone to the girl with a now pleased look on his face.

She typed her number in and saved the contact before handing Daniel back his phone.

He smiled as they stopped in front of his house. Turning to the beautiful girl, he grasped onto her hands and looked into her eyes, "Wanna come in and stay for a while?"

She blushed at his sudden movements and then realized his question, "Oh no, I couldn't intrude on your family like that. That's rude of me."

"You wouldn't be, I promise. My parents are away on a business trip, it's just me. It's quite lonely," Daniel replied, needing the girl to stay around a bit longer.

She chuckled, looking down at their still-connected hands. "Alright, sure."

He could barely hold his excitement in almost running to his front door with the girl following behind.

As they entered the home, Carly was in awe at how beautifully kept the home was.

Daniel lightly laughed at her amazement as he grabbed onto her hand and led her to his room.

There they got to know each other a little better, just the small things.

Carly didn't want to let her walls down yet, but around Daniel, she could almost hear them cracking.
She got that feeling around him to just trust him.

As she was thinking to herself, Daniel lightly shook her, trying to get her are attention as he noticed she was deep in thought.

"Are you alright," he asked, with a concerned look in his face.

She pondered for a moment, tying to decide if she should tell the truth or lie and say she was fine like she normally did.

As she looked at his hand on her thigh and the look on his face, she finally decided to answer.

She finally decided to tell the truth.

"No, im not."

Her voice cracked as she held back tears.

The boy pulled her into his chest and played with her hair, "what's wrong Carly?"

She didn't know how to answer.
No one ever cared enough to ask.

Well that was before Daniel Seavey.

She let a tear slip out of her eyes as she looked up at the blue-eyed boy.

She felt safe in his embrace.
She felt safe with him.

"Everything," she finally answered, looking away.

He had sat and watched the girl cry every night and it always hurt him. But now, as she lay in his embrace with tears streaming out of her eyes, he was heartbroken.

He rocked them ever so slightly, running his fingers through her soft hair to calm her down.

As he heard her breathing slow and soft snores coming from her sleeping body, he placed her on his bed and kissed her forehead.

Walking downstairs, he wondered what terrible things she had gone through and how he could make everything better.

But you see, nobody could ever make everything better for Carly.

She was a girl who had always been broken.

And him, you make ask?

He was merely a boy who wanted for everything in this world for the broken girl sleeping in his bed upstairs to be happy.

He would do anything to see her happy.

Daniel walked back upstairs, sitting on the edge of the bed, admiring the beautiful girl, sprawled across his bed.

She slowly stirred and reached out for Daniel, realizing she wasn't in his arms.

The boy smiled to himself as he lay next to the girl and wrapped her in his arms, slowly drifting to sleep.
