EVELYN'S POV:
After a while of silently putting my endless amount of belongings into their new places, good cop appeared through the door. We greeted him, and he sat to start helping us.
"How do you like it here, Evie?"
It was the first time anyone had said anything for ages, and it made me jump.
I took a second to take a deep breath.
"I love it, its amazing!"
He smiled and nodded his head in agreement.
"I'm glad you do!" he said, "So, what I was thinking is, you stay here until you get yourself under control, and Josh stays, too, and helps guide you, because I do know that some of the teachers are quite strict at this school".
Josh and I looked at each other in shock, even though I would've thought he already knew he had to stay.
"I dunno," I said, "it's not that I don't like him, its just that..," I didn't know what to say without offending either of them, so I just added, "yeah."
I didn't hate josh, I just didn't like his first impressions back at the station, but it was possible that I was judging him wrongly.
He agreed with his father, then, that was it. It was settled.
