Sorry this chapter is a bit shitty. To make it up, there's an adorable gif of Austin on the side. Enjoy :)

Bella’s Pov:

The vibration from my pocket caught me out of my thoughts. “Hello?” I answered and sat up from the sand.

“Hi baby, where are you?” It was Austin. I snapped into realization and checked the time – 2:40pm. We were out for quite a bit, longer than I had expected.

“I’m at Santa Monica with Ashley. Are you home already?” I sat up and looked at Ashley, watching her as she sat up with me as well.

“Yeah I just got home. When are you coming back?”

I covered the speaker of my phone and whispered to Ashley. “Let’s go.” She nodded her head and we both stood up.

“We’re heading back now. I’ll see you in a bit, love you.”

“Love you too.” Austin answered back and hanged up.

“It’s already afternoon, man. We’ve been out here for ages.” We began our walk back to the car park, wiping off the sand from our bodies in process.

“At least my legs look a little darker, the sun really paid off.” She chuckled.

“Hardly.” I returned the chuckle and she rolled her eyes, gently shoving me in the process. I made my direction to the car, waiting patiently beside the passenger door for Ashley, but when I looked up she was nowhere to be seen.

“Oh my god!” I heard her voice in the distance. I followed her voice and it led me back onto the footpath where I was met with a snow white coloured husky with bright blue eyes. The sight of the dog was amazing and my god was it gorgeous. “It’s a husky! Look how beautiful it looks!” Ashley was all over the dog, patting it up, down and sideways; any direction you could think of. I wasn’t surprised how in love she was with the husky; the dog is her favourite type of animal.

“Yeah,” I stared at the dog in such interest it looked as if I was hypnotized. “It’s so-”

“Bella?” The familiarity of the voice hollowed out my insides; I grew nervous.

Turning around I was met with the person I had expected it to be; Brody. “Oh,” I stood there with mix of emotions; slightly awkward but slightly happy. “Hey.” I smiled.

I turned my head to see Ashley slowly standing up, narrowing her eyes all at once. “What’s he doing here?” She folded her arms, her sight still directed at Brody.

“Hey, Ash.” Brody greeted cheerfully.

“Don’t call me that.” Ashley barked back sternly. Brody cocked his lips and held his hands up in defence.

“Ashley…” I mumbled quietly with my teeth clenched tightly. I flicked my head back to Brody, giving him the best smile I possibly could. “So, what brings you down to the beach?” I asked, Ashley only centimetres behind me.

“Uh, well I live around here.” He chuckled.

“Oh…” I nodded my head in realization, remembering he lived in Santa Monica.

“I was just taking Clementine out for a walk.” He directed his gaze at the dog standing right beside Ashley.

“This is your dog?” Ashley piped up, all of a sudden interested on what Brody was talking about.

“She sure is.” Brody chuckled. “You want to pat her?”

Ashley looked back up at Brody. “I already have.”
