9:45 pm, Arkham Asylum, Gotham.
The Joker finished his warning statements into the microphone, letting it record his panting breaths of excitement. "Heheheh," he said to himself and walked over to his lovebird, Harley Quinn.
"Did you unlock the cages, sweetie?" he asked her kindly. She nodded wildly. "Yes, Mistah J! All cells unlocked and out in the open!" she exclaimed. The two giggled and kissed maddeningly.
Meanwhile down below near the entrance of Arkham Asylum, the Batman and Catwoman were trapped on the island. Batman could see Gotham City's skyline from afar, the lights illuminated and emergency sirens blaring in the distance.
Arkham Asylum for the most part, was dead silent and only the sounds of winds breezed through. It was a chilly and dark night, the moon nearly blocked by clouds.
The cellmates who exited their prison rooms were the Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Firefly, Victor Zsasz, and Black Mask. They all ran to the armory and began loading up ammunition and other deadly weapons. "This is for the Batman!" exclaimed Riddler. Bane made sure his venomous strength was capable of killing Batman.
Back outside, Batman and Catwoman heard a circus theme play in the intercoms of Arkham Asylum, marking the beginning of a crazy and wild night to come.
"Let's enter inside and see if there's any wardens left in there," said Catwoman to Batman, who nodded. The two ran full-speed towards the front doors of the building, but suddenly an alarm went off and the doors locked themselves.
"Oh man.." whispered Catwoman. Batman used his detective mode, which was selected to see through doors and walls. He noticed a few incarcerated wardens, beaten up very badly.
"We have to find another way inside," spoke Batman assuredly. "Are you sure we can't just use the rooftop?" asked Catwoman. Batman looked upwards, and noticed a clear platform they can reach.
"Hold onto me," ordered Batman, as he pulled out his grappling hook. As Catwoman held onto Batman, he shot the grappling hook towards the rooftop, which gripped the top.
They sailed directly up to the rooftop, which was a few stories high above the isolated island of Arkham. Gotham City was in the distance, still lit up with booming lights.
Catwoman tried to claw the ground beneath her, but it was no use breaking into the flooring. Batman pointed to an empty ventilation shaft.
Catwoman watched him tear open the bars attached to the shaft, to allow them to crawl inside. "It may lead inside so worth a shot," remarked Batman as he signaled her to go first. "Good," she replied with seductiveness.
Catwoman got onto her knees like a stray cat, and crawled inside the shaft. Batman followed behind her, as they were in the concealed tunnel. It got darker, but Batman used his detective mode to scan where they were heading.
"Found the exit," whispered Catwoman as she turned her head back to Batman. Batman heard people talking. He shushed her, knowing Joker had set goons all inside the asylum to act as guards.
"You should have went first," uttered Catwoman as Batman squeezed beside her to get in front. He opened up the loose bars of the ventilation shaft's exit, and scanned a total of 4 guards armed with machine guns at the ready.
Batman spotted some overheard perches designed to be above the rooms of Arkham Asylum. He knew he needed to use his predatory tactics in order to stun and defeat the four guards.
Catwoman used her whip to sail from one perch to another, as Batman used his grappling hook. Eventually, they were each on a perch, ready to strike silently.
The first guard, a bald-headed buffoon armed with a machine gun, was searching around for any suspicious activity with a flashlight, was suddenly apprehended by Batman. Batman used his cape to lower himself upside-down on the perch, forcefully snatching the guard and knocking him out cold.
Catwoman gave Batman the thumbs-up. "Your turn Miss Kyle," said Batman. Catwoman then spun her deadly whip to grab another guard by the throat, hurling him against the wall, underneath her standing perch.
The other two guards heard the unconscious thud of their fellow friend, and ran to the scene. Batman used his utility belt to throw a sonic-controlled Batarang. The Batarang stunned the two guards, as they were wearing strange collared necklaces.
As the two guards fell to the ground, twitching, Catwoman dropped down from below and kicked them both in the face. She growled like a ferocious cat.
Batman dropped down from his overhead perch. Suddenly, the security camera stationed in the room caught the two vigilantes off-guard. Joker was studying their every move from the surveillance tower.
Harley Quinn was busy putting on lipstick, as Joker grabbed hold of the intercom microphone and spat, "BATMAN AND THE CATWOMAN ARE NOW INSIDE THE FUNHOUSE!!! MY BOYS, TIME TO GEAR UP AND SEARCH DESPERATELY FOR THEM TOO!!! IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY, I WILL UNLEASH THE COLLARED NECKLACES I GAVE YOU TO SELF-DESTRUCT SO YOU BETTER DO A GOOD JOB FINDING THEM! I SHALL BE CHECKING EVERY CAMERA NOW HAHAHA!!".
Joker then let go of the microphone, bringing his swirly chair back to the main focus; the surveillance system. It contained several security cameras installed in the asylum.
"You can run Batman, but you cannot hide from me!!" exclaimed Joker to himself as he grinned.
Meanwhile inside the room, Batman and Catwoman approached another ventilation shaft, to head to the seemingly next room of Arkham Asylum.
