"You mean it was all the murderer's plan?"

We're at the back of the school brainstorming on ways to prove Amira's innocence. I told them of the message I received from the murderer last night.

"I guess... I mean how else do we explain the message?" I said, replying Caleb.

"We need to get Amira to talk," Sawyer said. "She's punishing herself for no reason."

"I don't think it's for no reason. He probably threatened her or something, Amira isn't a murderer." Lilia said.

I nodded. Amira doesn't look like she could kill, besides she doesn't know Eugenia and she isn't connected to me somehow so why would she do it.

"I could try and talk to her..." Lilia trailed off.

"I'll come with you," I said.

"No, no." She shook her head. "It's best if I go alone."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I mean if she wants to say anything she would feel comfortable telling only me." Lilia shrugged.

"She's right man," Caleb said.

I nodded. "It's cool but I can still drop you off right?"

"Yeah, I guess." She said half smiling.

"So should we go now, school is almost over," I suggested.

Kyle, I'm not cutting school." Lilia smirked.

"Even when it's last period?" Caleb asked raising an eyebrow.

Lilia smiled. "Still, the bell hasn't been rung."

Sawyer shook his head. "I can never understand you."

Lilia was about to say something when we heard the sound we've been waiting for.

BBBRRRIIINNNNGGG!!!

We all turned our heads to look at Lilia smirkingly.

"You wanted to say?" Sawyer said, his smirk forming a smile.

Lilia laughed. "C'mon let's go." She said, making her way to the parking lot while I followed her to drop my arm on her shoulder.

***

I'm parked in front of the police department giving Lilia reasons why I should follow her but she's unsurprisingly adamant.

"Kyle I said no, Amira won't be comfortable talking to me with you in there."

I sighed. "Fine. Just be calm, tell her we're here for her."

"Yeah. Thanks." She smiled leaning to peck me on the lips.

"See you!" That's what she said last before walking into the station.

Lilia POV

"Lilia!" Amira shouted and ran to me. I wish I could hug her but the bars holding the cell won't allow me. We could only hold hands through the space that separated the bars.

"Amira," I said softly. "I'm so sorry."

She nodded. "It's not your fault."

"I'm going to get you out of here soon, we're all working on it."

She smiled. "I know."

"I just wish you could tell me why you were there in the first place."

She tensed up. "You know I can't tell you that Lilia." She shook her head. "I can't."
