The Seasons Swing Away

I remember the gentle sway
Of a car ride home in the middle of May
I remember a song on the radio,
A voice so soft and low,
And how it sang me to sleep,
It sang me to sleep.

I remember October skies,
Catching falling leaves as the world flew by
I remember bonfires at night,
Listening to the crickets and closing my eyes.

I remember
Cold days in December
Snuggled up in blankets
We read a story until we fell asleep
To see that story again in our dreams.

I remember a sunrise after the fog
How March took so long
To awaken from her winter-white snooze.
And I remember you.

I remember when we laughed.
I remember when we cried.
I remember when we jumped in the puddles
Of a rain-soaked world.

I remember being invincible.
Do you
Remember it too?

I remember the old maple tree
With the rope swing.
How do the seasons swing away?

Do you remember all those days?
I do.
